It automatically checked the factory reset box but I didn't factory reset it cuz I was being lazy which ended up saving my PC

It's ridiculous that it has to happen to essentially an influencer who has the reach to make enough noise before they respond to the issue

AMD is a great hardware company.... Their software division is like two college students and a supervisor

This happened to me multiple times. To fix the issue I used integrated graphics, install and use DDU (Display driver uninstaller) and re downloaded AMD drivers.

i love how they call it an "ultra rare" bug but if NVIDIA did that they'd call it a major defect.

Now... I know a lot of people don't know about booting the PC in safe mode, or dealing with other recovery measures (I never or rarely have to re-install or reset my PC...)... But it seems that in this case, that is not even needed. I mean, all my GPUs are nvidia ones, but if they say the truth here, it's the adrenaline software, that has a checkbox that should come "unchecked" by default (easy as heck, dunno why they didn't set it so), the 'reset to factory default' setting.

Also... Windows 10 Pro (I know, quite more expensive) allows you to configure the updates to happen when you want to. I believe there's a trick to do so too in Windows Home. And like they said, yep, you can just make sure you have Windows all up to date before installing the driver, I'd do it even if un-checking the factory reset on the installer... just to be sure. All said... I don't buy AMD GPUs as I need nvidia's features for my work, but if I was only a gamer, and as I don't really care about RTX as a player, I'd go for the best deal, and right now that'd be a mid or high end AMD GPU. As I am not afraid of tricks in my daily workflow, anyway, too used to those for other reasons. Specially if I can save a lot of money over the years from one card to the next.

I couldn't play vr with the previous gpu drivers. I was stoked that it almost works after the new update and it could have messed up my pc this whole time....

One of the reasons that keep me on Nvidia. AMD cards are nice, but as far back as i can remember their drivers have been lacking, buggy, or non existent.

The worse thing is, recently when you updated your drivers, Steam VR wouldn’t work

AMD getting W's at CPUs & GPUs but can't even bother to fix their driver issues at all.
