What happened to actor Josh Harnett?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If your first introduction to actor Josh Hartnett was in the Showtime series, Penny Dreadful, boy do we have news for you. In the late 90s and early 2000s, he was considered a Hollywood heartthrob. He was on the cover of tons of magazines, everyone wanted him starring in their movies, and it seemed like he could do no wrong. Unfortunately, that wasn’t true, and Hartnett managed to do quite a lot wrong, including getting on the wrong side of famous director Christopher Nolan. Find out how Christian Bale ended up as Batman instead of Hartnett. We’ll also let you in on why Hartnett dropped off the face of the earth for all intents and purposes, but was really licking his wounds back in Minnesota. Are you excited for a possible return of Josh Hartnett? Do you think that he’ll ever manage to be as big as he once was? Let us know what you think in the comment section, and don’t forget to subscribe to TheTalko for more videos.

He was overwhelmed with the fame and chose to live a normal life not being on the spotlight
He’s a very humble person

It is a blessing he wasn't consumed by Hollywood. Some people within the industry are super corrupt. I'm so happy he followed his heart & has a family with his home town sweetheart. This is truly a happy ending 🙏💕

You to applaud him for not selling out to Hollyweird and doing wtf he wanted to. Fame is BS. Fools live in glass houses filled with ridicule.

He was absolutely phenomenal in BlackHawk Down and Pearl Harbor.

He was TERRIFIC in Penny Dreadful, before it he was just another pretty boy. He showed the world what he's capable of doing and I'm honestly super in love with his character, Ethan Chandler, who is super well-written but even better acted. He is an awesome actor and he did nothing wrong.

He has integrity and won't compromise with crappy films. Great guy. Nowadays Hollywood directors are under scrtiny for bad sexual behavior he escaped their prying fingers.

He’s got like 7 movies coming up and he has recent one in the last year so idk why they say Hollywood won’t cast him

Actually what happened was Hartnet got tired of the bs in hollywood where actors are just expected to fall in line with whatever the big brands say they should do. So he left acting and went off on his own for a while only to come back later and get involved with projects that mattered to him not to the industry. Basically he pulled a Chapelle before Chapelle did it.

You guys make him sound like a loser who made the biggest mistake of his life when he really didn't. He just didn't like the situation he was in so he left. Last time I checked this is normal. Yes, there are times when we have to compromise. But I'm a big believer of following following the heart. Why do something that's not fun??? On a side note I prefer to see him in horror films. Penny Dreadful and 30 Days of Night are two of my faves from his body of work.

I’m actually getting sick of these videos - it could be as simple as these actors getting a taste of being a ‘big star’, and realizing that it’s not worth it.

You did not even mention 40 DAYS OF NIGHTS. Josh Hartnett had a great portrayal of the Sheriff in a small Alaskan town ravaged by vampires.

I love Josh and have still followed everything that he has done, I don't blame him for going into Indie films rather than big box office films if you cope with the attention that makes your skin crawl, I think he made the right decision as Hollywood was ready to devour him.

He did the right thing in my eyes. Too many cry baby directors.

This video gave me more of an idea of the kind of man that director is, than the kind of man Josh is. So someone said no to a role and then you blacklist him?? WTF. Maybe the director never even did such a thing. Josh himself said that he didn't want to have to deal with too much movie-star attention. It just wasn't him. Many movie-stars have that problem. Not everyone wants to be in the spotlight all the time, no matter how good you are at acting.

I admire him more now as an artist as he values integrity above all else...
