I am a little confused with her statement regarding Russia's revenue. I thought Russia is now conducting trade using non-dollar / non-Euro currencies (primarily Chinese Yuan/RMB). So, how can Yellen be sure that Russia's revenue is dropping? I am sure Russia's dollar/Euro transactions are decreasing, but it does not mean that Russia's total revenue is dropping. This is just common sense.

Are you kidding me? You try to use that judiciously? HA! You use it for literally EVERYTHING. Thats why countries around the world are sick of it. You screwed up.

Did she really say that we use sanctions judiciously? We’ve been weaponizing the dollar my whole life.

She is only delivering the message, not necessarily answering with facts.

Pointing to a Russian budget deficit as a negative impact on the Russian economy is painfully ironic. If a budget deficit means a weakening economy wouldn’t that mean we have the weakest of them all ?

"Inflation seems to be transitory"- Janet Yellen

She is either delusional or a complete liar. You can decide which is true and which is worse

Zak, like everyone else in the objective world, knows the answer. I think he is just testing Janet's bravery and integrity. But I don't think she has the freedom to speak her mind. As we all know, "she is with them or against them".

She should be focusing on the cost of domestic goods not foreign wars or "climate change".

Western comedy sanctions on Russia:
US: sanctioning Russia's financial systems
Result: US banks and EU banks in crisis😂 and Tech layoff's😂
US: Sanctioning Russia's crude oil products
Result: Cost of living crisis in west😂 etc

World is getting doubt over US is Super cat rather than super power😂😅😂😅

Yellen is unconvincing in her answers to the questions asked. The USD Market might be deep. But trust in the country and its currency is gone. In particular, the Dollar Printing Press. She forgot to add how profitable the business is with making US Coalition partners pay for America's otherwise expenses incurred in its war against Russia.

Economically speaking - when a country is involved in a war, it is a lost opportunity, a loss of a limited resource. Every soldier that dies represents a loss of potential, and assuming that it is a 18-40 year old adult, it takes a generation to replace.

Even though all those hypocrisy and wickedness has been exposed, it is hard to encounter someone who remains being truthful and righteous. Not just politicians but civilians alike are fighting for their own economic and political interest.

The real problem is the never ending growth in US debt. Yes, it is not easy to replace USD but the world can minimize the holding of USD or US Treasury by lowering the volume of USD denominated trades. The lack of foreign demand of UST will choke US spending on military, social welfare, not to mention infrastructure. It will get very ugly pretty soon.

Sanctions rarely work. Currently Russia apparently sells its oil at a discounted price to Saudi Arabia. The Saudis refine it and resell it to Europe at a higher price.

Russia is so vast that it covers 11 time zones. They have most likely the most natural resources on the planet and is the largest exporter of wheat...

What is she going to say? Let me take a giant guess… Of course they are working, just like they worked in Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Venezuela, Syria and so on…

Russia is expected to have budget deficit instead of surplus this year. But when was the last time US did not have budget deficit? US gov debt has been growing like hell.
