How to Calculate Height of Collimation (HOC) & Rise and Fall Methods for Site Engineering Surveying

preview_player
Показать описание
Site engineering involves using various instruments and methods to prepare the construction site for the substructures or for the superstructure. A lot of tasks must be completed before other construction professionals can carry out their specific roles on that site. At times, an architect will want the land surveyor to complete their tasks before they can fully develop their own architectural plans for the project.

During the construction phase, the surveyor is usually required on site to check and ensure that both the horizontal and vertical level are accurately constructed with negligible deflections form the accurate plan.

In this video, I will walk you through how to collect field data to check for site levels using Height of Collimation method and Rise and Fall method commonly used in site engineering and surveying. In subsequent videos, we are going to understand other applications of using the Auto Level instrument on construction sites.

Almost all surveying requires some calculations to reduce measurements into a more useful form for determining distance, earthwork volumes, land areas, etc. Purpose of traverse: It is a convenient, rapid method for establishing horizontal control particularly when the lines of sights are short.
