This move seems to go against the very principles Texas stands for.

Mandatory open carry at the Texas Fair would be the most Texas thing ever. They are missing a big opportunity here.

Just don't go anymore. Prices on everything more than doubled after covid and made it not worth going at all.

No way would I go then. That part of town has been a no-go zone since I was a kid.

One of the best things about this channel is you both speak like you're in a normal conversation with friends, on the patio, having a beer.
No phony announcer voices or awkward etiquette.
Cheers.

I like how the Fair blames the lawful carriers because an unlawful carrier shot someone... ridiculous

Ken Paxton has now sent them a letter, basically telling them to change there minds or be sued.

Fair park is in a shitty part of town. It's a lot less tempting to go to the fair when you might get mugged walking back to your car and aren't allowed to have a weapon on you.

Wow, Texas State Fair... way to know your customer base. They must have reached out to the Bud Light advertising department for policy advice.

I just banned attendance of the State Fair for my household. Problem solved.

AG is about to sue them for this policy

Unless they have 100% metal detection and armed security at every entrance and exit, they haven't banned anything. It's like a movie theater and most will just carry concealed.

Bans licensed carriers; won't accept liability if they're injured/killed.
Sounds like a place to stay away from.

I stopped going to gun shows in Alabama when they banned guns at gun shows.

I carried at the Fair last year, when I told the ticket taker and metal detector person at the gate that I was carrying, as per thier policy, they loudly yelled a code word (dolphin) to the police officer sitting on a stand 50 yards away. Therefore announcing to anyone paying attention that I had a firearm. WOW
I walked over to the officer and showed him my license card and he shrugged and said have a good day.

The state fair was a no concealed carry zone back in 2012…and even didn’t want anyone carrying a pocket knife at the time.
