I used to have sling TV. Then I moved on to YouTube TV. I am using Philo TV now, and I am getting ready to cancel service because I'm always watching something on YouTube, so there isn't any need to continue service with Philo. The only thing I will be paying for is my home internet. Once you get accustomed to the cord cutting, you will be just fine. Thank you for sharing.

Great video Michael! Agree with almost everything as someone who cut the cord 6+ years ago a lot has changed and it's going to keep evolving.

Ahhhh, I remember that $35 when i cut the cord, started with YouTube Tv in 2017 &, I am still on YouTube Tv having it for almost a decade now, never quit, cancel or paused it since then & LOOOOVIN IT👍 Best of the BEST and worked GREAT with the Chromecast TV on all my TVS in the house in quality and features, beside that I have all the streaming services ad free for the yearsss and some of them from their get-go they started🤙

Hey Michael it's gotten to the point that streaming applications have become as expensive as having a cable package. It's a shame how they played of the fact of so many people cut off their cable service. Some of the applications have raised prices more than $5.00 from the previous price. Even though I like streaming better than cable I didn't think it was going to as expensive or more expensive than a cable subscription. I have a Roku Ultra and 2 4K streaming sticks for my TVS. 😊

Dropped DirecTV, dropped YouTubeTV. Happy with YouTube, Amazon Prime, and the regular streaming services.

Locals, sports, and cable news was important to us 10-15 years ago. Now, not so much.

Passwords for all the streaming services are a real PITA. Any advice on managing them? BTW you are one of the best presenters on YT.

In regards to your new rule about subscriptions, I get it. And it no doubt would apply to me as well. However, a streaming user(e.g. newbie or less involved with content) who does not have as much exposure or as many encounters with streaming services as ourselves, it may be just too severe, as they may not have as much data to compare with.
On the other hand, those individuals might be able to achieve their 80/20 usage from just free content today... and need a similar "free" rule.
Keep up the good work!

I finally dropped dish for OTA and free (mostly) steaming services. I’m 89 so I find a great many free older movies and old TV shows. Being old I just don’t care much for present live TV shows or most new movies. I’m fairly satisfied so far BUT, and it’s a big BUT for potential cord cutters, I sure miss the ease of using 1 provider (Dish). I especially miss the guide and simplicity of their DVR.

Dropped ATT Uverse, now using Spectrum. Very satisfied.

Pluto Tv is a great alternative to cable TV.

Thank you, I'm using YT TV and I like it a lot, but if the price goes up again then no. I had Sling which worked fine though at times it had a few glitches. But it didn't have local channels like YT TV does. I'm a soccer fan and YT has the USA, NBC, CBS and FS1 to watch and record games. I also have Peacock TV to watch Premier League matches, once the season is over I cancel it. Continue the great work on keeping us informed. Btw I just wish YT would let us delete recordings like Sling did.

(re)Broadcast TV fees are a joke. They providers continue to get their money from the sponsors why should there be an additional fee.

The only thing I miss from cable tv are the cable news networks (and the dvr) but I'm not going to pay $40 a month on sling just to watch them. I set up an outdoor ota antenna and get many more local channels for free than I used to get with a cable (satellite) subscription. Since the big conglomerates own most of the content they've raised streaming costs to such an extent that the days of saving money by cutting the cord are mostly over. The big plus to streaming however, is that you can subscribe/unsubscribe at will.

I don't pay for any streaming service, if it's not FREE, I don't use it. I get my local channels from OTA antenna.
