I personally think that branch mining is the best way to find diamonds. It's easy, not TOO time consuming, and if you're at the right y level you will surely see the rewards

I used to do the Stright mine but these days I just dig in a big sprial goin' outwards or dig in a 5x5 or 3x3 straight line, often I just mix strats

You forgot the "secure the diamonds" miner. The knes that make sure there is no lava around the diamonds by mining around them before collecting them. I used to and my friends way back.

He forgot the best way, the type I am, using any of those methods but digging around the diamonds to make sure you don’t lose it to lava.

The thrill of mining giant caves is so fun, tryng to get that diamond with a hoard of mobs coming to get you (and when you finally manage to kill them all a creeper sneaks behind you)

There is a strategy to maximize the chance of finding ores (using maths). The method is to mine in a grid with 4x11 block gaps. As most ore veins are 3 block wide there is a very good chance that you’ll find some diamonds

The way I play now, mostly cave mining, but I do like a good hole in the ground, so strip mining can be fun as well to spice it up. "My goals are beyond your understanding" on the other hand, I felt really targeted by lol because that's how I always used to play, and occasionally still do. I'll just dig tunnels til I find something, dig another random tunnel, occasionally get excited because I think I found something cool, turns out it's just my own tunnels again 😅
