Aircraft ammo guide / War Thunder

Every time we go into an air battle, we choose to use certain ammunition belts — and it’s not always clear whether we make a right choice, especially given the fact that there are loads of different belt-types in the game. Let’s settle this issue once and for all and answer three simple questions: what types of ammunition belts exist, what do they do… and which ones should we choose!

Never even thought of using ap round for gunner turrets. Makes sense because you're usually trying to shoot through an engine, armor plates, and bullet proof glass to get to the pilot.

Wouldn't mind a "make your own belt" function but most guns have ok belts

Default=Less damage
Tracers=Laser bullets
Stealth=Ghost bullets
AA=Flyswatter bullets
AP=Armor shredder bullets
Universal=Destroy them all.

Stealth ammo : for pro’s and for AB
Universal ammo : for **universal** purpose
Default ammo : almost same as universal ammo
Anti-air ammo : for hunting fighter and boom-and-zoom attack
AP ammo : for hunting heavy-armoured targets -and for head-on attack-
Tracer ammo : *_I am already Tracer_*

95% of the time I use stealth.. it just becomes so much more difficult for the enemy to effectively fight you when they don’t have an indicator of exactly where you are at based on tracers flying past. The other 5% of the time I use belts with nothing BUT tracers just for intimidation when I’m using an aircraft that has 10+ guns lol

Stealth ammo is best
I use mostly HE stealth belt

For casuals like me who has zero knowledge about bullet types and their effectiveness "hmmmm.... bullets go pew pew"

Pro tip: when using aircraft with defensive armament/turrets use the armored targets belt or any belt that has the most AP rounds
Since you will be shooting through armored planes
