Tesla MCU2 Upgrade Is Awesome
Tesla MCU1 has been a bit of an issue, MCU 1 is laggy, slow and problematic.
MCU 2 has been an absolute powerhouse of a media control unit, more options, fast, zero to no lag and just a pleasure to use. For those of you who are thinking of upgrading your Teslas MCU1 to MCU2 I can tell you that it is worth every penny.

My Model X is in Tesla service here in the UK right now having the MCU2 upgrade done (and the HW3 for FSD upgraded for free too). Can't wait to pick the car up tomorrow :D

Nice video. I got the MCU2 upgrade last week (12/16 S75 AP2 car) and it now has sentry mode recording on a usb. Like SummonTesla explained, it is like a brand new car, because it has virtually all the features of one. They also gave me the HW3 computer even though I don't have full self-driving either.

Got my 2015 MS with AP 1.0 upgraded last week when in shop to fix the melting instrument cluster. There is not a big enough difference in terms of speed or anything for me to think $1500 was worth it. But car does seem safer when in autopilot. Seems like reaction time is faster. The car also stays further behind cars on autopilot. I always set it to max distance and before it stayed a lot closer which I didn’t like. Again, all that screen refresh stuff is not worth $1500 to me but happier with the safety and responsiveness.

Finally got my MCU2 upgrade. It took almost 1.5 months of waiting to bring the car in then another week at the service center to get it done but it's well worth it. My goodness what a huge difference in performance. The touch screen is so responsive and web browser is actually useable now and fast lol. FYI, for those who bring Tesla to the service center and they take too long or keep moving the estimated completion date, just respectfully ask them what is the reason for this delay. They may give you some compensation. I had battery swap, front fender garnish replacement and MCU2 upgrade there and they didn't charge me for the fender garnish replacement + they installed the Radio Upgrade for free. From what i heard, MCU2 by default excludes the Radio feature on your Tesla and Radio Upgrade costs additional $500. So i'm glad they were able to give me couple free stuff. So yea, always ask for the reason why your service is delayed you may find some luck

When you are driving and if you turn on the camera, does it show the back camera and all the side cameras? Or does it just show the back camera only?

Did you already have side cameras? I have a 2016 Model S P90D and it only has the one forward cam and the rear cam.

I got the recall on mine, but still will get mcu 2 in a few months, especially since my front screen is leaking a bit
