As a software engineer, whenever I learn a new programming language I feel like I'm collecting the infinity stones.

Personally, I think the best combo *is* C (C++, C#), JavaScript and Python. These three languages ensure a wide array of options to choose from for your career

According to Hiring Directors, you need to learn all of them AND have 3 - 5 years experience in each one. That might get you an entry level position.

no what you need to learn is programming concepts... all languages can do all types of things, its important that you understand how to work out an idea you have. you can learn syntax later on👌

Me: waiting for him to say Java

Do not start with C just because you want to go to C++. Go directly to C++.

Funnily enough I've learned Python, JavaScript and C# in the last 3 years and I absolutely forgot everything. Relearning it again lmao

As a hobby programmer, and have studied each of the language you mention in the video, I would also recommend to learn programming only to acquirer good problem solving techniques very useful anywhere!

C#, especially MVC and Entity Framework is really common for web applications and portals, JS does often get used for backend but more commonly for frontend applications. Also Python has so many amazing and established tools for ML and AI applications but it is so nice if you're able to do the same in a more efficient language. Spend some time waiting for your model to train and you'll understand.

I am a beginner and I started with C#, mainly because it's extremely easy to learn and read, very intuitive. It's really flexible too, despite you saying it's mostly for games you can still efficiently use to make applications and other pieces of software, making it a good first language for aspiring programmers :D

But don't forget to check what is in demand stack in your region. In my region the in demand stack is js + php that's why i learned both

I'm gonna get roasted alive for this but I actually think C++, while frustrating at times, is rather fun to program in.

My way
C++ (in university) > python > ruby (currently learning, in a few days my trainee pos ends and i will have interviews on junior)
Of course some js react also

Very accurate, I think it's worth mentioning that you can just about to any thing similar with any language though it just isn't all that smart because it may be harder, less resources, unnecessary or complex ETC. I wish I would have seen this before I started the journey because I went on with Python and got pretty familiar with it only to later learn and find out that data science is not my interest but more so as and web development and front end/ux. Thank you
