My Brussel Sprouts Story....

In 1949 when my parents were married Dad's Sister told my Mother to ""Fix My Brother Brussel Sprouts at least once a week"". Mom did until her death in 1999.

March of 2010 I'd asked Dad to drop by for a Corn Beef Dinner.

Instead of Cabbage I used Brussel Sprouts. He was VERY HAPPY to see them.

The very next morning he had a massive stroke and passed 4 days later....on St. Patrick's Day. His final meal had included them....which I'll forever be grateful.

For him...the ONLYway to fix them is.... 2 hours after being partly frozen whole in freezer ( improves the taste ). Then drop whole into salted boiling water until a knife pierces through them.

Served with a BIG pile of COLD Best Foods Mayo....😊

I have a little incident that happened to me about ten years ago with Brussels sprouts. I had watched one of Jada’s videos, and she made a Brussels sprouts dish that I thought it looked like it would be really good to have at Thanksgiving. So my daughter in law and I headed to Kroger. We sort of went our separate ways but met up ever so often to see how much progress we’d made. I had headed off to produce to look for a package of Brussels sprouts and couldn’t find a package of them and was pretty disappointed until
I found a stalk of them, first time I think I’d ever seen a stalk of them, so I grabbed a bag and started pulling off those Brussels
sprouts until I happened to look up, and low and behold there was a sign saying Stalks of Brussels sprouts $7.99 each! Oh my gosh.
I put the bag down and went to find my daughter in law. I told her what I had done and we just cracked up! I waited on her until she was ready to go to the produce section, and she wasn’t there ten seconds before pointing out a package of Brussels sprouts and we had another bout of uncontrollable laughter! And since then every so often I will get a text from my daughter in law in a market
holding a stalk of Brussels sprouts. No words needed! I just love my precious daughter in law and have loved her within days of meeting her! Also, we share the same birthday and very often pick out the same item……..she’s so special to me!

Love those sprouts, and I do them with garlic shallots, bacon and balsamic vinegar, then put a drizzle of balsamic glaze when ready to serve!!! ❤❤ tyfs, great recipes
