Dr. Becky covered a paper that suggested that due to how it would brighten and dim, it suggests that it's a lot closer to it's end than previously thought. Perhaps should go supernova within a few decades.

What's really remarkable about this star is how big it is. When it blows, it will expand to a diameter of nearly a light year before fading away.

Truth is that if Betelgeuse has gone supernova, it occured a very long time ago as it is about 500-600 light years away.

Not in our lifetime, unfortunately. What a light show it'd be though.

In the picture of the constellation, the Arrow, points to the BELT of ORION. But, All other pictures say, Betelgeuse is in Orion's Right Shoulder, which, if HE is FACING us, would be on the LEFT side, of the picture, unless Reality is WRONG, and we are staring at his ass end, or the picture could be upside-down. COME ON PEOPLE ! GET your ShiP together!
(But, another thing I love, is your concept of time, If your concept of "Soon", is a few Million Years, DON'T lose sleep, waiting for someone promising you a Million Dollars, SOON, to show up "Soon", it may take a Million years !
