The austrian Commander (Mack) believed the russians to be close to his army. This confusion arose out of the austrians using the julian calendar and the russians the gregorian. This lead to the russians beeing 2 weeks behind the austrian plan and the collapse of Macks army.

About 24:30, there was a significant thing about the title as Napoleon was made Emperor of the French, rather than the Emperor of France. This had a significant difference, as emperor of France meant he ruled France as in the title, where as emperor of the French meant he ruled over the French people, rather than some title. It was a very big thing considering how the French had overthrown their king prior in part because he represented the crown/god rather than the people
