Thanks GQ for giving Dagobah some love today! Certainly a great location that brought us one of our favorite characters from the OG trilogy. I'm not sure what else they really could have made back in the day, but I'm glad we at least got Yoda's Hut.

Dagobah was probably my favorite playset (after the Death Star) as a kid. A lot of features packed into it, I remember buying it with my own money in the summer of '83 when it was on clearance at Kaybee. Never lost any parts, except the foam which dry rotted.

I got that playset for Christmas as a kid and it was my most played with playset of them all. There was a lot of playability in that small little set. It was a couple years later before I got my X-wing and together it just made for a blast at playtime.

Looks great! If it were my set-up, I'd make the following changes:
I would definitely pull out Artoo's sensor scope since that was used on Dagobah. Then I'd place X-wing/Snowspeeder Luke by the X-Wing (w/ a Bespin Luke head). Finally, I would add Vader behind the hut for Luke to fight. Vader could have a Jedi Luke head.

even as a kid I could not fit my hand this playset. we needed some trees. a cave. some dangly vines. a tray to put some swamp water in. creatures. it's hard to see in there. what's yoda doing in there? what shows does he watch in his tree. I must know!

On my playset the swamp was disintegrated, I ended up buying an aftermarket replacement.

Looks better and complete. I'm not gonna lie, staring at a dried up swamp gets pretty old fast.😄

Never had any of the Dagobah toys. I did see Yoda for sale in 1985, but didn’t buy him because of the $5.00 price tag. I thought the price was a rip-off!?! Lol.

Perhaps if the swamp set was bigger, Kenner could’ve also worked in the swamp monster that swallowed - and spat out - R2-D2? Probably not.

Seems that Whilst Empire Kenner ramped up the figures and ships, they were a little hamstrung for playsets due to there being A bunch of snow, a bunch of swamp, an asteroid field and a bit of a Cloud City that was useful to kids' imaginations. Whilst these scenes made for the perfect Star Wars film with regards to an atmospheric and driving story set pieces, they appear to be a bit of a dead rubber for kids playtime, i guess :D The figures and ships DID start to get superb tho, can't deny that.
