For a country that preaches other countries on how to live, act and think, America is seriously psychologically, mentally and emotionally inhumane

The most expensive part of UK healthcare is parking at the hospital.

I had brain surgery, a kidney transplant, and pneumonia in the last twenty something years, now I have diabetes. Oh, and I wear bifocal glasses. Total cost, about £50 for two pairs of glasses. If I lived in America, I would be so far beyond bankruptcy I would need the whole world to crowd fund me.

I have had 2 knees replaced, I was in a private room with a top surgeon. I also had physio for as long as it was needed and had numerous MRI or Cat scans beforehand. $0 I live in Australia - thank goodness!

(I'm american) And this is why I tried to hide my ADD, Anxiety, & Social Anxiety from my parents, didn't say anything about how fucking hard it was to function on a daily basis and how damn hard it was to pay attention in school even though I'm smart. I actually said this sentence to my Mom the other day. I paraphrased it, since I can't remember the actually word for word. "It's okay if we can't get my medication, I know money has been tight lately." I've said something like that so many times, about Girl Scout Camp, about therapy, and I didn't tell them if I needed new clothes because my old ones were stained & one had a hole in it because I didn't want to force them to spend money on me. I've been doing this since I was old enough to understand how money worked, and that my parents sometimes didn't have enough. I'm 13. I've been doing this since I was around 8. Fuck America. If I can get a Visa, a job, and the ability/money to move to Canada I am. My stress level is at 1000 daily. I'm fucking THIRTEEN, I should be worrying about homework, or Pre-Algebra, or where I put my house keys, or the cliffhanger on the latest book in my favorite series, not whether I can survive in this country and what excuses I have for "Forgetting" to eat lunch or breakfast so the money for food goes further. I can't. I'm going to die from stress before I'm 30. I fucking can't.

I was born with a condition which means I need access to healthcare on an ongoing basis for the rest of my life. I live in Australia and I have no cost to see doctors and numerous surgeries. My much needed medications are affordable. American's I feel so so so sorry for you.

4:40 *I pray that one day this will be real!* I have horrible cramps, to the point I can’t get out of bed sometimes. I feel like just 2 hours of what I feel will immediately make some backwards politician be like “This is bullsh^t. My stomach and back hurt, I can’t move, I’m crying from pain, I need medicine and a heat pack, I don’t want to move, I’m curled up in a ball, and all I wanna do is make it stop. Women & period-havers deserve proper and covered reproductive health rights because this is ridiculous.” And if that isn’t enough to convince them, we need to make another app and let them feel what ovarian cysts are like. You’d have to be either stupid, have an impossibly high pain tolerance, or be numb to not feel like what we go through deserves proper care and support.

Over the course of five years, my mother in law had a pacemaker implanted, hip replacement, knee replacement and other major surgery. Uninsured and on the public health system, she received excellent care and it cost her $0.00. - Australia.

I appreciate there are plenty of Americans who understand the concept, but for those who have commented their ignorance on certain aspects...
1) National healthcare is free at the point of use, not just free.
2) Doctors & nurses get paid, it's their job, they don't work for free.
3) The population pays national health insurance even though they may rarely need medical attention, just like you pay local taxes for amenities you may not use or car insurance when you might never make a claim. It's there if you need it. The "I'm not paying for other people's treatment" argument completely misses the point of centralised insurance.
4) More expensive doesn't mean better healthcare. It's more expensive in the US because companies are making a huge profit from the suffering of others.

At 01.50. I read a report of a 16 year old girl shot in a drive-by who now has several hundred thousands of medical bills for something that was not her fault and could do nothing to avoid. How is that right in any civilised society?

My sister literally died from poverty. She lived in Florida and her routine healthcare was a mobile clinic. You had to be in the parking lot at 6 a.m. and bring your lawn chair to wait in the line to be seen. She died of kidney cancer. She was 50.

I live in Canada.. feel free to insult our health system... I'll just go to the hospital and get my feelings checked for free.. there's one 2 blocks from my house.

I'm in Canada, I have severe epilepsy. On Dec 10 I had a $20, 000 VNS device implanted during a $200, 000 surgery. The bill I recieved was $0, everything from pre-op scans and tests to post op medications were covered. Only thing I paid for was a $7 meal in the cafeteria afterwards. Even transportation to and from hospital was covered.

You pay for ambulances !!!!. When doing basic first aid I was taught to call an ambulance whenever possible as private cars give you no opportunity to monitor or treat people.
This all strikes me as not only wrong but deeply immoral and inhumane.

5:48 WHAT??? ... 153.161 dollars for a snake bite??? ... tell me this is a fake one because if its not there's something really really wrong there ... not even a heart transplant or a brain surgery cost that much and I mean both of them combined in my country

I've seen the one about being charged 40$ to hold your own friggin' baby after giving birth several times in compilations like this, and it never ceases to baffle me.
