Skiing at higher speeds, you'll need to be more dynamic on your skis. In this ski lesson, we draw parallels with riding a bike round a corner and illustrates the difference in relative angulation between legs and upper body at lower and higher speeds. Once you understand this you can start working it into your skiing.

This really is an incredible series. Thanks so much for what is clearly a lot of technical consideration into all aspects of these videos. Every time I see the instructor come through the shot in almost exactly the same part of the frame the care taken to get this right shines through. The information is clear, simple, and presented so well. The dedication to this series is inspirational. Thanks!

Haven't skiied in 3 seasons and needed a good refresher before this season starts up here in Ontario. Suffice to say, I've learned a lot of new things! Thanks so much man!

Excellent series of videos. I started to learn to ski about 6 weeks ago and after a few lessons at the indoor slope I've been following these videos as a way to improve. Now I'm comfortably parallel skiing, and today used poles for the first time. I head to the western USA in a few weeks so I can't wait to try out the techniques on longer runs. Fantastic work, thank you very much.

@gibboian Thanks for the positive feedback it really does make a difference, have a great season and I hope the films make you a better skier.

Great to hear you found the films helpful, when you are trying to stop turn gradually up the hill you will eventually stop. Try and keep your body calm and allow both of your skis to turn more than your upper body.

I love your videos! I am a beginner skier and I am just starting to build some confidence on the green slopes. I watch your videos before I head out to the hill and try to remember your tips...thanks so much!

Your videos are great! I'm also a beginner skier but I'm ahead of my game. My natural abilities for skiing have really taking me far in a short period of time. So I'll watching and learning advanced techniques from your great videos!

Having a good set of skis will certainly help and making sure they are serviced properly.

These are great videos, I've been skiing for many years and you are certainly helping me to correct my faults. I like your "static" postions as it makes it clear what should be happening to the legs or the upper body. Great work and many thanks

Absolutely love your videos. I used your suggestions and techniques you teach in your videos when I ski (beginner level, only gone twice) and it's accelerated my learning and skiing experience. You're awesome, thank you. #skiUtah

The best advice I have is to make sure you are not squatting, stand up and make sure your hands are in front this should help, glad you like the films.

Hands forward is good advice. About hip height and two feet (half a metre) forward. The other element that helps is to make sure your poles are angled back at 45 degrees.

Your waist acts as a fulcrum; if you angle your poles back, it brings your shoulders forward and your upper body over the centre of your skis.

Watch how the instructor has his poles angled back. This is one of the most important elements, but very few people ever tell you!
