During his 15-year career at the top of ski racing, Ted Ligety developed one of the most exciting carving turns in skiing. He won 2 Olympic Golds and 5 World Championships, and now he has partnered with Carv to share the secrets of the perfect carving turn.

"I’ve spent my whole career pushing the limits of what’s possible on skis. I have put that experience into a program that most skiers can follow.
Our goal was to develop a real-time coaching experience that helps a wide range of skiers make the kind of turns they could only dream of." - Ted Ligety

This partnership combines the accuracy of Carv's real-time, objective feedback with Ted's phenomenal expertise - creating a coaching program that is the first of its kind.

With Ted’s training, Carv members will unlock the feeling of the perfect carve.

Want to learn how to really arc a turn, and get your hip to the snow?
In Train with an Olympian, you’ll progress through 40 increasingly challenging levels - with real time tips, videos, and drills developed by Ted. Think you've got what it takes to challenge Ted?

Carv members will learn how to:
• Manage their inside ski to create a tighter radius in their turn
• Develop edge similarity, the foundation of a great carve
• Improve outside ski pressure to manage the forces created in the arc
• Start to edge earlier in the turn
• Ramp up those edge angles, and get your hip to the floor

When we started Carv, we set out on a mission to make world class ski coaching accessible to every skier. Our partnership with Ted has been a long time in the making, and is a major milestone towards that goal.

About Carv:
Carv is the world’s most powerful digital ski coach, loved by The FT, NYT and The Times.

Carv consists of ultra-thin inserts (concealing 72 pressure and motion sensors) fit into any ski boot and a coaching membership that is delivered via the Carv app.

13 different metrics are measured on every turn, including Balance, Edge Angle, Turn Shape and Outside Ski Pressure, giving Carv skiers an objective way to analyse and improve their technique.

Skiing with Carv is like having a world-class ski instructor in your ear. Carv gives you real-time audio feedback during each turn, personalised skiing tips on each chairlift and detailed analysis every time you stop. Carv members also get access to videos, articles, drills and workouts, made with the world’s best ski instructors so you can improve your skiing, on and off the mountain.

Carv is an official partner of the Professional Ski Instructors of America, and the Canadian Ski Instructors’ Alliance.

Carv has influenced my skiing in the same manner that Strava has influenced my cycling.
Objective data is a game changer! I really enjoy the feedback and my skiing (and fun-factor) has improved immensely! I try to execute the many clear practice drills and goals on different runs while I’m skiing solo or with friends.
Carv will not replace the ski instructor- but it will certainly enhance the lessons!

Also a Huge fan of Ted Ligety!

Love the idea of Carv but the subscription costs are way out wack. If we buy something we should own it.

I got the carv in 2020, which was a founder subscription. Got 2 seasons with it, which was great, but this year the sensors would not work. Asked Carv for support but sadly could not get any

Hi #Ted Champion...would you please make a video on how to choose ski equipment for Skiing?

Took me a while to carve like that. Warren Smith and a shitload of exercises finally made it

I like the idea - I'm just not convinced about the 'subscription' model. It's a little expensive. 200£ for the device, sure why not, but the app access is expensive.

классная резьба! 🎉🎉🎉 Я новичок. И мне очень нравится карвинг! Но как я могу проводить лето, когда нет снега? Как сохранять навыки вне сезона!? ❤

I like the concept of Carv. 300 $ is not cheap, but ok if it will help to improve. I would really like to improve my carving skills, but I dont know if this tool alone will do a lot change.

I would like to know what ski was used for this video. It did not look like a race ski, but he was riding it like a race ski. It looks more like a railing or trick ski. What ski was it?

I made skis work on the street. I would love to try this technology out... I have just been using the tracks of urethane I lay down in the street to judge my turns....

What is edge similarity 91%? Does it mean that the edge angle of the inside and outside skis differ by 100-91=9%? If so, then how come edge similarity starts with 2% ?
And what is early edging 97% ? This is a ratio of what to what?

Hey Bushwacked, You'll own everything you learn forever, and if you want to look at expensive, check out the price of a private half day lesson at any resort.

Is 152 his skiIQ cus it says his balance and pressure are just "good" lol. Or is the purpose of the video to show his improvement so he gave lower scores on purpose?

Carve will not magically transform your skiing if you do not know how to interpret the data, and then determine what drills to do to correct your flawed kinematics. I do not believe that most skiers have the self coaching ability to put the data that carve provides into practice. Finally, Carv will not speed up your nervous system re-programming one bit. If it is going to take 30 hours of doing Garlands to develop foot feel, and you do not do the 30 hours, looking at Carv data all day long will not help you one bit.

I thought he was going to teach me something in this video. Instead, he’s just selling an app. Waste of a click.
