Hi Morpheus! Thanks for trying out some Vietnamese food! I'm Vietnamese and for the most part you ate everything correctly! The hoisin and siracha is meant to flavor the broth (if it needs any, but from the video it sounds like it was perfect!). Try dipping the banh xeo wrapped in lettuce (your pronunciation was great!) in the fish sauce and it will boost the flavors even more! The herbs that were in the pho and used for the banh xeo are thai basil (not to be confused with sweet basil), and mint!

Love that you’re trying out food from different cultures! You’re right on the dot with banh xeo! It’s a “finger food” for sure. It’s typically eaten dry, broken up and wrapped in greens, then dipped in fish sauce dipping sauce.

I liked how you prepared the bowl of pho too! I also enjoy the beef slightly rare, but if you ever find it too rare, you could always heat up your bowl to cook it a little 😋
