I got many messages lately about people losing their birds and aren't sure of the reason why, so I thought this would be an important and helpful topic to create a video about.

After commenting on this video just today. My albino budgie saul passed away suddenly, we are arranging for necropsy to be done on Thursday to find out the cause. We have always been so careful, no candles, no nonstick cookware, healthy diet, we change water 2x times a day. So basically what I'm saying is cherish the time you have with your little angels because they can be gone so fast

My bird just passed away after 13 years with me :( Thank you so much for the time I was able to spend with you. We think it was due to his old age and adding to that probably a kidneytumor showing clear symptoms the last 2-3 days(Drinking alot, losing control over his legs/feet) He took his last breath cuddled up in my hand. Thank you for everything Schnuppi and Fly high my lovely grandpa! :) ❤ I love you

About 20 minutes ago, my little budgie died from what I believe was using disinfecting wipes. I feel bad, but did not figure it would hurt the poor thing. Take that warning seriously about the fumes and chemicals. It's the real deal, and it seems that many new bird owners learn that lesson the hard way. I'm sorry little Astro, you deserved better. Thank you Salvador Budgie for your content, helped me give my budgie a good life for the short time I had him. I wish I had taken the warning more seriously, that's on me. Don't make the same mistake, our birds deserve that much.

Thank you for this video. Yesterday, both of my parakeets (less than a year old) passed away. They both died together, and we’re not sure how they both died at the same time. This makes a lot more sense, thank you. R.I.P. Bruno and Gunner, we’ll miss you! ❤

My budgie died last year, he kept lifting his head up and making whistling sounds as he breathed, we gave him some medicine which didn’t work and he just fell to the bottom of the cage a week later, when I held his dead body, there was this massive bone sticking out of his tummy like he lost weight in a day

My lovely budgie died today... He was 3 years and half months. He was so pure I can't even say what I am feeling right now just an empty and broken heart. He kissed me and talked to me everyday. He loved to dance and sing. I will forever rememeber him. Fly high Arthur...

I got a reason why my pet sun conure died

So my dad wasn't aware of this but there was fumes in the house while he was cooking burgers. I tried to tell him birds had sensitive respatory systems. Its was even on the last day of school. When I came from basketball practice he lied on the cage dead.

My poor bird was scared very easily, and one day I was watching Toy Story 2 with my family and there was one scene with a loud cat screech and it scared my bird so bad and caught him off guard and sadly plummeted to his death. This was years ago, and I still wonder what it would be like with him still here today. R.I.P Beans, still miss you :(

I last kept a sweet little budgie, Woody, from I think about 1992 until about 2002. He loved to hear the switch on sound 'dee-ding' of my Nintendo Gameboy and would race out of his cage to sit on top as I played, pecking down at the screen.

In the weeks before his death we noticed he was losing weight and yet was always eating. He just couldn't seem to absorb the nutrients. I found him at the bottom of his cage one morning. He was a lovely little thing so it was such a shame but I remember him fondly.

i came here because yesterday my little baby, wilbur, passed away suddenly. now that i think about it, there were signs right before he died, but i don’t think i will ever understand. i got him not even 2 weeks ago, and he was the sweetest bird, and he had the best personality. he was a beautiful blue/teal parakeet, and he had a little white spot on his head. 3-4 hours before he died, he was out with the family, and we were letting him explore around our living room. he was hopping around the floor, showing no sign of illness. i put him away, and left the house for an hour. half and hour after i got back, i went to my room, to check his food. i noticed he was sleeping on the floor, but that’s where he normally slept, so i thought nothing of it. i picked him up and held him in my hands and pet him for a while, then put him on his perch in his cage, and left to make dinner. i came back an hour later, to see him on the floor of his cage, dead. now that i think about it, there was only really 2 signs of him acting weird. he seemed tired, and when i picked him up, he didn’t get excited and try to explore. i figured it’s because he was tired from all the adventuring earlier. and the other is he was letting me pet him. we just got him, and he didn’t really let me pet him yet, he would swerve away. he was being snuggly, and cuddling into my hand as i held him, so i thought he was enjoying it since he was making no effort to get away. i watched this video, and none of these reasons make sense as to why he would have passed. i’m so sad and i miss him so much. rip wilby 💙

Egg binding is a very serious condition in female budgies and if you notice any problems with their vent please get them looked at! That’s how my budgie passed :(

My little pal Cobie died of old age (died at age 16) and possibly some sickness few years ago.
My family rescued him from his previous owner because the owner didn't care about him.
I can tell that the poor little guy lived in a bad condition and terrified of humans.

I miss his chirps in the mornings when I have to help my siblings to get ready for school.
I got to hold him when he became super sick, I of course put him in a warm box with food and water, hoping that he will get better.
I was shocked when Little C let me touch him and talk softly to him since he normally avoids human contact.
He died in my hand while I was gently petting him with my thumb and singing him a song.

My little pal will be missed, I hope he's up there with my other budgie watching over me and my family.

My little budgie, Grassy, passed away an hour ago. She was suffering from air sac mites, which are difficult to detect. I had been treating her with medication for fever and diarrhea, even the vet couldn't determine the cause of her illness. It's really hard to cope with the loss of a pet. May all little budgies remain safe and healthy.

Budgies are so small that diseases and intoxications can spread really fast and kill then in a couple of days :(
Also, a lot of exotic and wild animals don't show that they are sick until the desease become severe or deadly. So please, take your pets for the vet (at least 2x/year), even if they look healthy, because routine examinations can id problems in early stages

Thank you for your video, i needed answers after my bird passed away suddenly a few days ago. So im mourning her. Never been so attached to a pet before until i got my budgie. Cant hear her singing anymore- showing contentment as i cook in the kitchen. Cant use her name (Tonto) anymore, i vacuumed my house and see her feathers, stop and cried, it hurts. And i wondered if i wasnt a good enough owner. I'm kind of mad on why she left, i just dont understand it. Just like that, gone. Miss you my darling bird x 😭i hope we meet again some day.

I lost a budgie recently. I took him to the vet because he started limping. Turned out he had a complex multiple fractured leg/foot. The vet said it was an unusul break she only really sees in animals with tumors leaching out their nutrients. He was also congested and was put on antibiotics. But he just didn't make it. He was a good bird. A sweet little guy. And I wish I'd gotten more time with Calisto. Unfortunately, some birds have underlying health issues. And there isn't always anything you can do. But regardless, I'm glad I had him in my life. I wish I got longer with him. But at least I got the time I had. He was a good boy. I miss giving him pets.

I also discovered another weird reason a while ago that somebody I know experienced. If you don't clean you cage properly then your birds can get a stomach infection and unfortunately die. It happened to a friend of mine a couple years ago. Two of the symptoms that I picked up were: Not flying anymore and Not eating. Anyone else experience this?
