Once you get into the American Express eco-system, then you never have to worry about another hard inquiry. That is the only thing that you miscommunicated boss! You also didn’t say that if you were to add an AU to your account, that they would only receive the history to their credit profile from the day that they were added and not from when the account was opened.

If you are military overseas, the gold and platinum are good to have. The annual fees are waived and no foreign transaction fee. Although if you need to pull cash from atm, I won’t. It has a high % fee.
I would look into a navy federal credit card to pull money.

Back in 2011 I was 21 years old. I was only making $12K per year. My credit score was about 770. To my surprise, I got an email from AmEx saying that I was pre approved for the platinum card. I applied and got it. I already had the blue AmEx card though.

Yeah from my experience American Express cares more about your payment history and credit utilization rather than credit score and income. Late payments and high credit utilization will get you denied for any Amex card.
