Single in your 30s: Advice from a 40 something

Being single is hard. A relationship is hard. Raising kids is hard. Having no kids is hard. At the end of the day, life is not always peaches and cream 🤷‍♀️ just pick youre battles

I’ve been married and divorced in my late 20s(No kids). I’m now 35 and have been single ever since and plan to stay that way. Trust me when I say this, you’re not missing anything. Find things in life that make you happy and bring you joy and live for you.

I have recently been feeling like a "leftover" woman at 35 and alone. Always was in long-term serious relationships, but those unfortunately ended. But I also see women who did the "right" thing in getting married and having kids. Now they are divorced, and the children grew up and moved away. They ended up alone afterall. I'm just trying to remember that starting a nuclear family holds no long-term promises of companionship or stability.

For those who are single and without kids in their 30s/40s… don’t be too sad. I’m 43, married, one child … and I have never felt so lonely or sad in my life as I do now. NOTHING is easy when it comes to relationships. We have to make ourselves happy, no one else will give that to us.

35 years old and single, I’ve been happy since I gave my life to Jesus christ . When you let go of the idea of finding Prince Charming, nothing matters anymore except your love and devotion to the lord . He’s my number one . Everything else will come if it’s Gods will . I came to terms if I’ll be unmarried I’ll still be grateful for the life God gave me . But in my heart, I know God has the perfect husband for me . But if not, I’ll still be happy to know I’m walking with Jesus through this life .

I came here looking to double check if I'm doing something wrong in life. 33 Female, alone most days except when I need to go to work. I have some form of autism but functional. I ended a lot of close friendships when they found their own partners. All of a sudden I was a 'nuisance'. It takes hours to days before they could respond to a single hello. One didn't respond for a year! Heartbreaking but that's life and it's beautiful. One day at a time keeps me going... Walks, youtube, Library, beach... ❤

Just remember if you haven't worked on yourself getting into a relationship will only make things worse... I have alot of friends who jump from relationship to relationship needing someone and it always fails because they never had time to be alone and figure it out or try too..

Currently 37 turning 38 in about a month. I’m still single and never been married. I’m still enjoying being single doing the things I want to do while still being vigilant finding my future honey.

I'm 34 and have been pretty much single my whole life. All my friends are married and live full lives. I wish I had my own place for comfort but still live at home with the same problematic people. 😢

I’m 31 and single for just over a year now. Was in a relationship(s) for my entire 20s and most of my teen years too. I don’t know if I could ever go back. I was a shell of a person bc all my time would be centered around my partner and my job. No time for myself or to learn about myself

In this era, it is difficult for you to find an ideal partner, because most people care about material things, formalities, and appearances. I searched for a long time for true love, for the pure essence, for tenderness, and I did not find it. Being single in my 30’s has honestly been peaceful! Maybe it’s because I’ve seen a lot of dysfunctional relationships first hand by experiencing it myself and seeing it around me (family/friends/social media). I honestly felt more alone when in a relationship. 🤷🏽‍♀️
