At Libeco, we see flax as the fiber of the future. It is a fiber that allows us to apply environmentally friendly and durable processes in our mill.

Raymond Libeert, fifth generation of the founding Libeert family, explains you how we do so.

Great video. I wonder how this would be if used in a composite application like fiberglass.

Best flax is Northern Irish. It co fuelled the Manchester mill boom of the Industrial Age and all the inventions aling with it: the spinning jenny, the dobby loom (very similar to a Jacquard), stationary watts steam, overshaft belt driven factories, screw makin lathe, etc. Irish lace and crochet and Dorset button making industry was huge. Sadly all that got crapped allover as part of the secret EEC deindustrialisation plan for the UK.

Just a little something I'd like to point out:

Uh....how ya gonna call flax the "fiber of the future" when it's been in use for 36, 000 years, at least? Just seems a little oxymoronic, spun, and to be blunt historically dishonest.
