To be honest I think when the manufacturer of these units is asked which makes and models it will work on, the answer is usually vague or a definite "will not work on that model". Maybe due to them being on the grey area of the law. But don't want to go to the expense of buying one if it definitely won't work on my vehicle.

Guys, I just bought this tool because of this video. Believe me it's not as good as it looks. I tried to do a mileage correction on a Mercedes E220 Cabrio (w207) and it cannot do the job. The tool couldn't pass the authorisation security and that was the end of it. Maybe is good for some cars but not all. I will be trying this on my Porsche Cayenne and see how it will do. I will let you all know as soon as I get that done. In the meantime I will be trying this tool on many other vehicles. In fact I might do my own videos!!!

Most modern vehicles store mileage in several modules, besides the carfax system saving mileage during servicing. If it ever ends up below any recorded service event it raises a flag on that vehicle. This even happens if mileage is entered incorrectly during an oil change, it can cause big problems.

Just went the link and send a text msg as my car not show Mini Cooper 2002. My cluster third digit is gone and mot guy out unknown even when told him the digit. So found BMS direct that does customize second hand cluster with the mileage i need. WOW what a load of shit sorry for my language, took 9days did not drive car so as no mileage discrepancy Plugged it in nothing nothing worked at all apart an airbag test when car started and nothing else, not even mileage display. I have been furious they say they tested it 3 times.. just send it back yesterday, will get another and do it with this---But clicked buy and sent me to amazon and amazingly Not Currently Available GONE. But will wait now. Thank you very much for your video who just made my smile come back and keep up the good work hoped i found you sooner!!!

You'll only be able to correct from snog to smog. The mileage is logged during the smog. So you'll be able to only go back to the last smogged mileage.

At least in the U.S. there is exactly one legal use for this tool: after replacing an odometer (or gauge cluster, as the case may be) to set the odometer to a reading equal to the value the old odometer had. Or set it to zero, and add a label to the door jamb indicating the mileage when the odometer was replaced.
