He chose her fate, and in doing so, he relinquished his right to choose his.

There is only one thing wrong with this death sentence....it should of been carried out yrs ago. There is absolutely zero reason that this man sat on death row for so many yrs. Native American or not he did the crime. Did he care then, no, and now only cares about himself.

I grew up the daughter of two alcoholics. My mother verbally, mentally, and emotionally abused me horrifically my entire life. Even into my adulthood. Adulthood. I have never raised my hand to anyone. Not my children, not a stranger. I don't even drink alcohol. As a child, I made it my goal as I grew up in that utter hell that I would not become my parents, more specifically, my mother and I would never treat another human being the way my mother treated me me. I really hate it when people try to get out of crimes using the way they grew up. I fought tooth and nail to overcome my circumstances. Was it rough, yes. My mental health is a crap shoot. I also didn't go around committing crimes left and right and blaming it on my childhood.

My grandmother grew up in The Depression and she said crime was dealt with pretty swiftly and harshly. She says it really makes a difference. People were afraid to break the law.

His victim wanted life instead of death as well.

As soon as you harm a child all bets are off the table.

He violated a 6 year old baby.

That little girl will be a woman in her 30s now that will have a life time of trauma.

He’s lucky he got 26 years of life because the victim didn’t and the victims left with trauma have had 26 years of pain and suffering.

His victim also wanted at least 25 more years.

millions of people experience the same trauma, lack of mental health support and drug abuse and do not murder innocent people, I am so sick of people using that an excuse. the judgement for murder is death as set by God, he can appeal his case on judgement day.

I agree with you Mr. Mike King. Accountability is long overdue. Our justice system needs to change.

All DP convictions should be carried out sooner than later.

He didn’t stop after taking this woman’s life, he went on to violate a baby girl… Where would her justice be if he gets his way of Life in Prison?…🤔

DP would be more just if it happened within 90 days of conviction. 25 years later is not justice.

I hate it when the lawyers bring up the way a person was raised. No one had it any rougher than I did, and Lord knows, I’ve never wanted to hurt anyone. Especially a child. I’ve always worked, and minded my own business. A person can be what they choose to be, no matter what they have been through. Using someone’s past is only an excuse.

The fact that these DP inmates seek life without parole rather than death tells me prison is not the punishment we deserve it to be..

"Death penalty doesn't deter crime" Guess what? It DOES deter criminal activity from the Criminal who is executed.

We need to protect people, not the murder. It doesn’t matter what race he his

I had not heard of this crime, that poor family! I found it ironic that he was worried about the injection making him suffer….

Excuse me while I speak frankly about my opinions. I am speaking from a victim standpoint. When Ronnie Lee Gardner was executed, I stood proud on the hill watching for those lights to go dim and bright again, and when they did, we hugged each other with joy. No, we were not happy that someone just was shot, it didn’t bring closure to anyone. But it did bring knowledge in knowing that no one will ever have to suffer at his hands, it meant the final chapter was written in that we no longer had to worry about an escape. But it also meant the weight of the world was lifted off our shoulders. We knew the light at the end of our tunnel was just ahead and the media would soon be off our tails, asking us questions about what took place, stupid questions like how do you feel about the up-and-coming event? And what do you expect after he dies? An 85-year-old woman answered this best, I will never forget her words, “I am the wife of a man he killed the mother of the children who cried and prayed while caring for their father. But as one mother to another mother, after tonight we both lost this battle you a mother and me a wife there were no winners only tears.”
You ask me if I believe in the death penalty, I lost 3 friends to murder before I got out of high school, I watched another one suffer after the Hi-Fi killers attacked him. He suffered for the rest of his life in oh so many ways. You bet I believe in the death penalty.

I believe in the DP in cases such as this. Chad Daybell was another one that was warranted. This guy obviously premeditated to kill the girlfriend’s mother by breaking into her home. On top of that he sexually assaulted a 6 year old girl. This man needs to go. Praying that the victims family can have closure, if that is possible. I do believe that the DP should be done within the year of being convicted if they are sure that the person charged is the same person who committed the murder or conspiracy to murder.
