Not only is this awesome that you're showing us all the technical nuances to put this motor together. But the chance that actually own one of your motors would be incredible.

First off, who else releases multiple videos on new builds literally minutes AFTER winning undoubtedly the hardest HRDW22 you and Tom just finished!! Only you brother, only you!!!! Congratulations on the win Steve, you boy's DEFINITELY earned this one!!!!

Can't wait to check out the new project, but if it's from SME, you can't go wrong!!!!

Congratulations on winning Drag Week. It's a testament to both your knowledge and your character with supporting Tom throughout the entire event. Swapping pistons, no sleep, swapping injectors, no sleep, dealing with a self-ejecting trailer, no sleep, and of course if that wasn't enough, having to swap a throttle cable.

This comes as a complete surprise and is a testament to how generous you are. We're here to get an understanding on where engines are today and the depth of knowledge you're willing to share is nothing short of both admirable and remarkable. Giving away a complete engine is unheard of and speaks volumes to the kind of man you are. Some of us follow you for entertainment while others follow to get a better understanding of how to build an engine correctly and you deliver on all counts.

Lastly, thank you, God Bless, and good luck to whomever wins this engine.

Cheers!

That 555 is very similar to my 557 build that I built and installed in my 1978 Chevy BIG10 pickup that I ordered new with a 454. I used a Dart block 4.500” bore with an Eagle 4.375” stroke crank, Edelbrock square port heads, Edelbrock Air gap dual plane manifold with a 850 Holley (that I bought new in 78). I also used a solid roller cam but somewhat conservative because I use the truck to pull my 26’ enclosed with my dragster. I wish I would have taken the time to dyno the motor because it is a torque monster. I still have the original T-400 transmission that I beefed up years ago and 3.73 gear that I ordered it with. I ran it a few times a the track and ran high 11’s. Its pretty heavy to me for a short bed and when I weighed it with cast iron heads it was almost 5, 000 lbs with me in it and I’m about 215 lbs. funny thing is that the gas didn’t seem to change hardly any, still 9 to 10 mpg.

One of the best parts of this channel is seeing the growth of the next generation. Seeing the bond between Father and Son doing something you both love is something special..
My father has turned wrenches his entire life. Growing up that was what we did together . Sadly we drifted apart.
So seeing you guys doing this is awesome.
The YouTube aside Family is everything.

It must be so hard talking/explaining and doing all at once Steve.
I learn something new every time I watch a video of yours.
Thank you

Bought my merch for a chance to win the giveaway motor. Sure would go well with my 70 chevelle that's been sitting stagnant for over 30 years.

I love your channel! I might have missed it, I did not see the thrust alignment prior to torquing #5 main.

I will say definitely love seeing the father and son combo definitely the highlight of the video like seeing when successful businesses keep things in the family. And talk about the best prize to win on YouTube I’ve seen yet!

Such a smart man. I'd love to work for you just to learn. And I'm 46 years old.. been a car truck guy since birth. You do more cams a week than I've probably done my entire life.

We are truly watching a thing of beauty being born! Can't wait to see the finished article on the dyno singing and producing lots of power! 😊👍

Thanks for taking the time to show this, always interesting to see different interpretations to get to the same end product. Also was fun watching someone else be confused as to which way to go with the cam adjustment. Congrats on the Drag Week victory and I'm sure sleeping all night in your own bed will feel great. This would be a great engine for my 1962 Bel Air wagon, hint, hint ...🙂

Steve Tech coming in clutch with another detailed walk through of something that has been somewhat of a mystery to me. You explain things in a way that is easily understood and I feel like I could replicate myself. Thanks Steve 10/10

Watching this, seeing how cool and technical this all is, just puts into perspective how difficult it is as well. Going to a professional like Steve with all his years of experience really seems like the best option.

I can't imagine trying to do this yourself without having someone like Steve teach you every step of the way. What a wonderful trade with such exceptional skill and precision

Love this format of video. No one does this anywhere that I know of. I know any car guy would love seeing these informational videos. Even if I already know what your teaching its still interesting. Keep it up man. You hit the nail on the head here
