The prusik and toggle combo is something that has made my setup infinitely better.

I already do that I got tired of trying to find a toggle or making a toggle but you're right it saved a whole lot of time. I'm so glad you showed other people that because I just about quit teaching survival. Have a great day and stay safe keep your powder dry!

Loving the toggles! Grandsons and I made some recently with a hole drilled into a Y-branch. Worked great for hanging up gear in addition to regular toggling functions.

Great video…. How I do mine is a half-way between…. I use a Prussic loop and then semi-permanently attach the toggle with a bull hitch as a more secure option to a lark’s-head. Best of both worlds… you can “permanently” attach your toggle to your Prussic, you can remove it without having to untie any knots, and you get the strength of the full-diameter of your toggle (instead of half of the toggle if you drill/tie a knot like in your video).

But, But, But it makes my quick release ridgeline bulky. YET, it is still better than dropping my toggles. Thanks I will convert one to this way tonight. Your the Man Dan.

All good if you have a tarp with loops. If you have grommets you are kind of screwed unless you can find and use very small

I use half inch hardwood dowel rods cut to around 3-4 inches, I stick them in my drill’s chuck and spin them against my grinder to create a smooth shallow area thats about 3/8” wide, then I cinch down a double hitch loop of shock cord thats tied to a bank line Prusik knot on a 550 paracord ridgeline.
The shock cord locks down on the toggle, provides a bit of dampening for gusts (or tripping over a guy line) and it pulls out any stretch in the tarp over time.

nice. I make a small center notch on an stick of fatwood and attach with clove hitch for my most used ridgeline
