A NEW TOGGLE TRICK NOBODY KNOWS

I WAS WATCHING A YOUTUBE CHANNEL AND SAW HOW THIS GENTLEMAN USED A SIMPLE TOGGLE TO FORM A LOCKING TOGGLE. FROM THAT I FELT I COULD ADD THE TOGGEL TO MY ADJUSTABLE GUY LINE AND FORM A LOCKING TOGGLE LOOP THAT WOULD WORK LIKE A CINCH STRAP FOR HOLDING LOADS.I USED MY WCKNIVES BLACKBIRD TO CUT A OAK BRANCH OF PROPER SIZE. THEN I REMOVED THE BARK AND LOCATED THE PLACE TO CUT THE SMALL HOLE FOR THE 550 PARACORD. TO BORE THE HOLE I USED MY VICTORNOX FIELDMASTER CUTTING AWL. THIS AWL ALLOWED THE HOLE TO BE CLEAN CUT WITH LESS CHANCE OF SPLINT THE OAK STICK. ONCE THE BASICK HOLE WAS BORED I SHIFTED THE THE SMALL BLADE OF THE FIELDMASTE TO DRESS THE EDGES AND PREVENT SPLITING. FINALLY I USED THE PHILIPS SCREWDRIVER TO FULLY OPEN AND ROUND OUT THE HOLE . I HAD ARLEADY CREATED A ADJUSTABLE GUY LINE FROM 550 PAPACORD.ITH THE END PASSED THRU THE TOGGLE I CREATED I WAS READY TO TEST MY IDEA. USING THE ADJUSTABLE GUY LINE I WAS ABLE TO MAKE THE CORD FIT THE LOAD BY SLIDING THE PRUSICK KNOT TO PROPER SIZE.THEN THE TOGGLE USED TO CINCH THE LOAD TIGHT THE TOGGLE PREVENTS THE PARACORD FROM SLIPPING AND SERVES THE PLACE OF A BUCKLE WITH OUT HAVING TO TIE KNOTS.

Felix Immler is an Bushcraft instructor for Swiss Army Knives and he is a wealth of knowledge about all things woodcraft. I have two of his SAK books and I refer to them all the time. His channel is focused around things he can do with a Swiss Army Knife and he can do a lot. Thanks for sharing this tip about a simple cinch buckle that seems to have a million applications.

Felix did give credit to someone else. Good to see the YT community giving credit where credit due. Thanks for sharing.

Great video.
We used this in the army (1984) and it’s still working, great!

The best part of this video is the explanation about the learning and sharing part about knowledge.
Like a steak, well done!

I watched Felix's video yesterday and made a few of theses. I tapered my toggle ends. That made the undoing easier. The toggle also works on tarp tie outs, so it could be an adjustable guildline. The toggle works on a trucker hitch too, so good for ridgelines.

I'm his subscriber also. He didn't come up with it, he also shouted out who he got from. Respect I made a few also.

Good old Felix has some very useful tricks. Like you I made a set of these toggles after seeing Felix’s video. In that video Felix gave credit to the guy who shared this idea with him. So, as you point this shared idea has traveled the world. 😀

Man, you are a joy to watch. Even these simple things, I found my eyes glued to the screen, watching you work and listening to you talk. I can't really explain it.

Nice, I watched the video from Felix & wanted to give it a try, this Toggle thing just keeps getting better. So now with your cord setup you have the option to tie or toggle a tarp loop & tie everything up when carrying it. 👍👍👍

What a lovely philosophy of sharing knowledge. Very enjoyable to watch: calm relaxed expert presentation of interesting content. Saw Felix's take on it a few months ago and this has reignited my desire to make and play with toggles. Just when my family thought I'd gone off the boil on toggles...

Felix is the man and if he's new for you I'm very glad you found him and I hope you subscribed, 'cause he rocks. Combining your adjustable strap with his locking toggle is genius and I'm gonna make up a couple of them right away. Man, I love
