Another tip for the micro SD cards - don't waste money on faster cards. The Switch doesn't support those high-end read/write speeds. Those speeds are meant for supporting 4K devices. For example, the $250-$300 SanDisk Extreme Pro 1 TB will function the same as a $150 SanDisk Ultra 1 TB in a Switch.

I recommend changing to Dark theme, easier on the eyes and saves a bit of battery.

Not trying to be rude, but anyone else notice that this guy looks like a real life Mario?

i actually found holding the switch as intended no accessories or nothing just the normal joycons it was actually really comfotable, even though i have slightly large hands it still felt nice to hold.

Also a tip, buying physical copies of games save you money AND space. On the eshop games go for the original release price while in stores or online you can find physical copies of games for half of the original price. The only disadvantages is having to wait to get the game until you reach the store or the it gets shipped from online (which is only 1-5 days usually) and switching out the games from the port everytime you wanna play anything else. Personally, I regret buying games from the eshop so i learned my lesson.

I just got the OLED yesterday, I was surprised I was able to pick up it on Amazon for retail price..

I highly recommend the satisfye grip and hori split pads. I can’t play switch without em now. I never even thought of the airplane mode too, but I only play in handheld so that should help a bit.

Didn't know about the MTU setting. I'll definitely have to change that. Thanks for the tip!

The split pad is nice, but I prefer the NYXI game pad. It’s fully wireless and with the grip, it can function as a separate controller

For the SD cards, I’d recommend waiting for them to go on sale. I got one for 256 GB at Best Buy on Black Friday for $14 one year! I try to get them every year now.

The MTU tweak suggestion is like saying Size 10 shoes are better than size 9. It all depends on the size your feet.
And in this case it depends on your internet connection. Sometimes changing the MTU to higher might even hamper the download speeds. For me for example changing MTU to 1500 actually doubles my download times.
The internet is filled with guides on how to check the optimal MTU for the connection you are using.

I've had my Switch since 2017 or 2018 and this is the first time I've heard about an MTU value. Thanks!

Buying a 1tb sd card during black friday was one of the best things i've done. Never have to worry about running out of space.

If you just want ethernet on your existing dock, you can buy a USB Ethernet adapter instead of buying a whole new dock. That's what I did when I first got my Switch, and it works pretty great. That said, it might be beneficial to have an extra dock incase you have multiple rooms to play in, or want one you can take to a friend's house.

Good tips and made me feel better about the fact I waited for the OLED model. Also picked up the pro controller but wasn’t sure at the time of purchase. It is the go to controller. Rock solid tips dude.

I use my switch like 98%+ of the time in hand held mode. Yes! Some kind of grip is a very big plus and aids in comfort. I use a mumba case that also fits in my case that I keep my switch in so I don’t need to keep taking it off unless I dock it. Yes! Some kind of micro sd card is a must. I’d also recommend a 256gb minimum and yes the name brand sandisk red or green cards are very cheap (even better prices on sale) and work just fine speed wise and comparable to the game cart speeds. You may not think you need one or will fill it up but you eventually will. Best to get a card for digital games and leave the internal memory to just the game saves as that is the only place it will put save data.
Edit: oh ya and the trick to turn off wi-fi (airplane mode) while in hand held mode to save battery is one I’ve used too and does work. As does lowering the screen brightness too as that is a major battery killer. Manually adjust it as needed in hand held mode. Don’t leave it in auto brightness adjusting.

I've had my switch since day one and I still got some info out of this!
