No disc drive really solidified my decision. And I hear the separate disc drives to purchase are sold out. Classic Sony move.

My issue with the PS5 pro is still lack of disc drive. Like $700 isn't too crazy if everything was included, but it's not.

Get the Pro if you really care about having both quality mode and 60fps. If you're fine with the fidelity of performance mode in the base ps5, go with that instead.

You can talk all you want about the performance gains but all I can really think about is how Sony named their upscaler tech PiSSeR...

I almost got a PS5 Pro, but after seeing some reviews especially the Digital Foundry video I am happy with my original PS5.
The PS5 Pro seems to be a console more for those that don't already have a PS5.
So I will just wait for the PS6.

People really be sitting more than 8ft from their 55" inch tvs? I'm at 8ft with a 65" and feel some regret about not going 75" from that distance.

To me its a no brainer that you're not going to notice resolution differences at those distances with those size tvs.

Oh wow, Nintendo actually confirming that the Switch 2 will be backward compatible is great, I've been wanting to buy a Switch just to play Tears of the kingdom but now I'll just wait for the next console and hopefully play it at a stable 30 fps

Not enough there for me to upgrade to the pro, especially since I’m mainly on PC and come to the PS for exclusives primarily! Definitely loving your VR coverage lately though! :)

The compatibility thing for Switch is great. I kind of felt forced to go digital with it because, with many games, the performance was just so much better if you had it installed on the system memory instead of an SD or game card.

I'm glad you cover the VR stuff. There seems to be a better community involvement after the price drop for PSVR 2. I still get motion sickness, but overall, I try to find a positive with each game I play.

The Pro is not about the fidelity quality. Its about having it WHILE playing at 60fps or more.

The biggest thing for me is 700 dollars is approaching gaming PC prices. And for me, because most of my Ps5 games are physical means almost another 100 so now i'm spending almost 800 dollars on a marginally better system than my base PS5. At that point I would personally just save up another 200-300 and get a PC. But to each their own of course, I have a couple friends who are PS5 power users, they use it every day and both have nice monitors and They're getting pros, at the end of the day, its whatever, if you think its worth it and you have the money, it is.

The backwards compatibility is huge! I have such a small but selective library and knowing I can use them in new and more powerful hardware is a great feeling!
