In this episode I talk about three reasons why we live in Maine. 1. Safety; Maine is the #2 safest state when looking at violent and property crimes. 2. It is beautiful; ocean, mountains, lakes, rivers, trees, and small towns. What else is there to say. 3. It is fun; if you love the outdoors then it doesn't get much better than Maine!

Visited Cape Elizabeth a few years ago. Enjoyed going out to Portland Head Light and watching the waves crash against the craggy shore. Two things that surprised me was one could actually hear the whales singing in the distance and very few people seemed to visit the lighthouse. I pretty much had the entire setting to myself.

I’m a full-on Mainer, and I agree with everything you say, especially the first 2 things. Maine IS safe compared to other places like New Jersey or New York, not slandering them, and Maine IS beautiful, we have trees, lighthouses, beautiful mountain and ocean views, and fishing/hunting are amazing things to do! I love Maine, and no one can convince me otherwise.

For those reasons and more I am seriously considering moving back. Moved to NC in 91' and have been missing Maine ever since.

I used to love sitting at the lobster pounds, out on the deck, eating my twin lobster dinner and clams. Watching the lobster boats coming in. Unreal.

Yup! As being a former Maine'er, I can tell you if you like 2 seasons, winter and july, you would love it there. Then there are the black of them getting into your eyes, hair, up your sleeves, paint legs, mouth...there is a reason it's called vacation Land. You get to leave at the end of it.

I’m a 20 year old who live in Texas, I have only 5 thousand dollars to my name and I want to live in Maine. I’m only a high school graduate with only two years of retail and nursing experience. Any tips or help in how to find a place to live?
I guess Maine isn’t really a place for someone my age but I fell in love with it since I started high school and always told myself I would live here. This sounds so silly but any feedback would be appreciative.

this maybe a older video, but many forget or rip on Maine the only downside is i hate the cold i am in IL so i bet it worser there in that regard, that being side due to i am a flat out honest man so i say whatever i feel or think. But Maine to me from brochures that ordered free to my house i was always curious about that state even from a kid to me it was Maine ! or Main ! and odd up there on like a flame stick and gotto see that flame the golden shine of US that is what i thought of it it sits up there like a torch and torches are cool to see and many times people go Oowww so when i saw the travel guide of it, i was like Omg wow :O i seen and love brief time i was in Colorado, Arizona Texas etc and all pretty beautiful states and even i been to Florida for a short time not tostay or enjoy it more like grab family member and brig back quickly as can but beautiful as that is and in my top 5 or 6 states i saw in guides or in person Maine ranks 2nd to me to me many rip it or make fun of it or so on but what i saw even over other beautiful states my gosh ! Florida Wyoming Colorado Maine ranks 2nd! I

Think its so cute state beautiful gosh beautiful! Never been or get to but i think it totally GORGEOUS and anyone that lives around gorgeous or historic areas even if see it alot should feel good living around such beauty at least! So i am glad you do! Only Washington is ahead of Maine not just because George Washington fav PResident but the scenery just tops Maine ONLY sttate that does and that again is a gem in the other Gems if you can beat South Dakota which i been to WAY beautiful even more then FLorida tome! Even more than Wyoming look Colorado etc just have to say i love Maine shame never see it. BUt unlike others in America i think its 2nd best looking state ever! I even love and support the Maine Black Bears i got a Pennant on my wall!

Tho like said i wouldnt want to live there for i hate snow IMO i hate it more than any man that does hate snow BUT i do respect and love manys love of it and apprecation of it. I love it when Spring and Summer in IL Many knock this state for boring but its not there is alot of History and unique historic or interesting towns i been to CHester, ELsah, Galena, Metropolis Cave in ROck, Illinois and there is Shawnee and Starved ROck and some other cool spots that have bluffs like beautiful Alton! But it dont even stand in t he top 25 maybe 30th and Maines 2nd! :) So glad you love Maine glad someone does ! its beautiful many forget its beauty but its BEAUTIFUL i wouldnt put it 2nd if it isnt that is hard challengers !! South Dakota Florida, Colorado Wyoming ETC so that is saying something 2nd man beautiful beautiful state! Always overlooked in some sense its a good thing :) So people dont destroy it !
