I just joined the academy brother and I can genuinely say I’m excited to make myself an entrepreneur and work for myself, level up my skills and grind, I’ve watched quite a few of your videos now and I can’t wait to do what you do!!!

I see tons of editors get this wrong, and I don't blame them as I was in the same spot for a LONG time.

It's likely worth grabbing the pricing checklist from the description to remind yourself of this pricing formula.
I hope this helps, thanks for watching!

I charge 100$ per 10 min video. I don't think I'm gonna make any changes soon. I'm gaining more in terms of experience than money. Maybe in the future I'll charge 300-500$ or else charge monthly.

What is better to do when you're just starting out in video editing, short-form content or long-form content?

your video was packed with great insights The importance of understanding the true value of our editing work really resonated with me. I particularly appreciated the point about using countdown timers to maintain viewer engagement such a simple yet effective strategy. Personally, I believe charging per video provides clearer expectations for clients and allows for better project management. However, I see the benefits of a per-minute model for more detailed work. Thanks again for sharing your expertise.

Awesome video! Before editors academy I priced my editing at $100 CAD for videos. But I'm now getting up to $200 or even $300 for the same videos an same time!! Thanks for all you do Sam

Totally agree. My wife was* an attorney who did so much of her content work herself. She charged $250 per hour for her time, and she earned even more for commission based cases, yet she was editing blog posts and doing basic VA work that we could outsource for $15/hr.

It's important to remember that what you are selling is the customer getting extra time. The 10 hours per week of work that my wife sent to her VA cost $150; however, it allowed her to generate more than $2500 per week!!!

If you can be a video editor for a professional who has a high hourly rate, there's so much more potential to earn higher rates.

*I use was because she left private practice in 2017, and now works as a judge. It's far less money, but a much better quality of life for us.

Currently, I charge $75 per video, but after watching this, I'll start pricing based on the value I bring to my clients. I'll assess their potential revenue and price accordingly, aiming to move towards monthly packages instead of per-video rates. This approach should help me build a more stable income and better reflect the quality and impact of my work. Thanks for the insights!

I used to charge 30$ per video, now I'm considering 120-150$ per video. Thanks for the insight Sam, I believe your pre-determined value is what determines pricing.
