Hi Jack, i'm a weather enthusiast like you but from Italy. I'm answering about the weird stream clouds that you saw coming down from canada... we have something similar here when cold air comes from the east of europe and travels above the Adriatic Sea. Basically it's cold and very dry air coming from high pressure from continental territories, it travels above the sea (in your case atlantic ocean) that is much warmer and it picks up humidity and since the air is still very cold it creates clouds. The more it travels above seas the more clouds form untill the air is warmed up. It usually doesn't rain when this happens but in your case i think it might reach florida and "fuel" che hurricane with even more clouds and moisture. Joog Squad fella, You guys got hit pretty hard in Florida. I was watching your show before the Hurricanes hit. Really appreciate the hardcore research you do on potentially hazardous weather cycles. Felt for you man. My brother and his wife are in North Carolina. They got hit pretty hard too. What is on the horizon? Shouldn't the hurricane season be over by now? Love your show man. Stay safe. Just to qualify why I share your interest in this. I'm a Scuba Diver- PADI MSD. I did Environmental Science at Middlesex Uni and specialized in water quality control and flood hazard management. Spent an internship at the Uni of Utrecht in the Netherlands. Those guys have got their shit way together vrs flooding. It's flat sea level style like Florida. They do something called Managed Retreat. I did my dissertation on this and I was so amazed by the results. whereby they move back from the coast and use marshland to dissipate wave energy. Florida can do this. Everglades much? I realize that's unrealistic, but hey ho. Don't build walls, Nature will crash that. If you build flood walls then when a severe flood event happens its just going to breach that wall and the flood event, damage and most importantly loss of life will be way more concentrated and severe. Keep on the great work bud. Apologies for the long post but I'm as focused on this as any layman could be.

4:40 those are called gravity waves. They are often seen a few hours right before storm initiation in big severe weather set ups in Kansas and Oklahoma

Thanks for the update. Check out Hurricane Gordon in 1994. It hit Ft Meyers on Nov 16 as a TS and went across the state, twice. Killed a few people by tornadoes on the east coast as it came across. So hopefully no one takes this lightly. Keep up the good work.
