How to dye your hair with Kool-Aid

Come find out how I dye my hair vibrant red with Kool-Aid!

Things and Stuff:
Conditioner
A microwaveable cup
An unloved spoon
Gloves
5 Packets of Kool-Aid in your desired color
Plastic sammich bags
Hair ties/rubber bands

Instructions:
1) Put 2 spoons of conditioner in the cup and microwave for about 20 seconds. Mix in the Kool-aid until it dissolves.
2) Once it cools, add conditioner until you have the amount you need.
3) Separate your hair into manageable sections and add the goo to your hair. Place the goo filled hair into bags and wrap hair ties/rubber bands around the ends.
4) Leave it in your hair for 8 hours. Yes, 8 hours. I usually just sleep with the awkward bags attached to my head.
5) In the morning, rinse your hair until the water runs clear, but don't use shampoo.

Once it dries, you should have extra awesome hair. Enjoy life.

So here's my kool aid story: I dyed it in August of 2013 (7th grade) and it stayed in up till 9th grade. I get my hair done at least once every month so that tells you how strong this stuff is. The beauticians thought I did it with actual hair dye when I told them how long it stayed! It could be because my hair is porous, but I don't know if my hair is porous. I did it several times in August, using both the boil method and the paste method and they both worked great. I would definitely recommend if you want a substitute for box dyes. **My word of advice is to wash your hair before you do it (unless your using extensions) then keep it on over night (keeping it on over night works even if your doing the boil method) to ensure you get maximum color.**. I have black hair and It came out a dark cherry/blood red color that looked beautiful in the sunlight.

Edit: Five months later and I have a barely noticeable green tinge in my hair. I used purple Koolaid with blue and red food coloring (I wanted to modify the color) and got dark green ish blue. It wasn't what I was hoping for, but it was still pretty. I'll have to try this again, either with more Koolaid or just straight food coloring. This method lasted longer than I expected.

This is the method I did. *FYI I have dark'ish brown hair!*💁🏽

First I bought 4 packets of sugar free look aid (sugar kind will make your hair sticky!!). Then I took two bowls/cups and pored boiling hot water into each bowl, then added 2 packets of kool aid to the water in the bowls. I tied my hair into two low pigtails and inserted my hair in the mixture for 20-30 mins. The more time your hair is left in, the more intensity it will become.
It came out VERY vibrant on my hair surprisingly! 🙆🏻👍🏻 hope u like your new hair!!!
P.S. RED KOOL AID SHOWS UP BEST ON BROWN/DARK HAIR.
