Another big “Thank You” to Smurfstools Oldies Music Time Machine for allowing me to post this great, historic video on my channel.
Here is Domenico Modugno performing his massive international pop hit “Volare” [“Nel blu dipinto di blu”] on "The Ed Sullivan Show": [S12 E1 Airdate: Sep 14, 1958]. Enjoy my DES [Digitally Extracted STEREO] conversion of this historic TV broadcast.

“Volare” ("Nel blu, dipinto di blu") [Translation: 'In the blue-painted sky’] popularly known as "Volare" ('To fly'), is a song originally recorded by Italian singer-songwriter Domenico Modugno. Written by Modugno and Franco Migliacci, it was released as a single on 1 February 1958. The song spent 5 non-consecutive weeks atop the US Billboard Hot 100 in August and September 1958, and subsequently became Billboard's #1 single for the year. In 1959, at the 1st Annual Grammy Awards, Modugno's recording became the 1st ever Grammy winner for both Record of the Year and Song of the Year.

Domenico Modugno (January 9 1928 – August 6, 1994) [aged 66], was an Italian singer, actor and later in life, a member of the Italian Parliament. He is known for this massive international hit.

Technical Information:
I used DeMIX PRO to isolate the Vocal, Instruments, Drums and Bass into 4 separate tracks. Adobe Audition 2020 was used for, Dynamic Range recovery, Reverb, Delay, EQ and final mixdown. Sonic Studio’s Amarra Luxe Sound Processor was used for post EQ and upsampling. NERO 2019 Platinum used to generate the final video.

Enjoy my MONO-to-STEREO conversion of this historic performance by the original writer and singer: Domenico Modugno, as seen on The Ed Sullivan Show.

Superb job on one of the greatest songs of all time. I was eight when it became a hit in the US - and it was played everywhere - and loved by people of all ages. It also helped inspire me to have a very long career in the music business.
