I honestly think that Dragons Dogma 2 does ONE thing EXTREMELY WELL, that Elden Ring also did..
Both had weird/bad story, but exploration in both games is excellent!
Best advice is to go and explore…

16:50 but I thought the items they collected outside your world aren't brought to you? Items carried by pawns are sent to the storage box when dismissed. How would that save you time collecting Beetles if you have to collect them anyways???
