*What is your favorite John Carpenter film?* Mine's The Thing for obvious reasons!

Big Trouble in Little China is my fave Carpenter film. But The Thing is his best, I’ll say.

I really like Ghosts of Mars. I watched it thinking it would be 'so bad it's good' but I was pleasantly surprised. It's basically a grindhouse movie. If it had been released in tandem with Tarantino and Rodriguez' dive into nostalgia I think it would have been celebrated instead of reviled.

Still a better Doom movie than Doom.

Plus is the film version of Gangsta Rap vs Black Metal....on Mars

Oh my gosh, Ghosts of Mars is definitely my guilty pleasure film. It came out when I was a teen, and was one of the few "horror" movies that I could watch and still be able to sleep. I love this film so much.... might need to re-watch it.

I LOVED this movie growing up. Me and my friends would re-enact scenes from this movie after school. Strange but we had a connection to it.

This movie did for me exactly what I wanted, took me to a place and a story I never saw before and entertained.

Is it possible to get a video on “In the Mouth of Madness”, carpenters most underrated film.

I always seen this movie more of a spiritual successor to an actual “DooM” movie, it is very similar to DooM in some ways.

Anyone else got those vibes when watching this movie??

I will always love this movie no matter what anyone thinks of it.

I like the design of this movie and I don't think people should take this movie too seriously especially at the end when *Spoiler alert*

Ice cube winks at the camera.

Guillermo del Toro once told he that the thing is an inspiration to many horror fans and film makers.
Carpenter then replied "what @#$&ing good does that do me"

John Carpenter is easily one of my favourite artists in general. His films, his music, his very person is enjoyable and refreshing to experience. Big Trouble in Little China has been and continues to be my most favourite film of all time.

Escape From Mars with Snake Plisskin. That would’ve been epic.

What a bummer.

I agree with you but I really think this was just a bit ahead of its time considering that Starship Troopers comes out 2 years later and then Firefly comes out 7 years later capitalizing on the space mercenaries/sci-fi side of it. If Carpenter wasn't in such a desperate situation after The Thing bombing then I think this could have been greatly improved. I think it's also interesting to note how many people ripped off Carpenter with the movie opening on a soul survivor being interrogated.

I love The Thing and Halloween, but i feel like John Carpenter's Vampires is his most underrated film and a guilty pleasure of mine

I always liked those saw blades that were being thrown around.

I love GOM. It's raw as Hell. The musical score is pure all-star, including Carpenter himself, duh. Futuristic Assault on Precinct 13. I guess history repeats itself???
