Performance "chips" can be found a lot of different places, and many times, make some BIG claims. Do They actually work?

I literally said at the beginning that there are plenty of performance tunes, which are sometimes referred to as "chips" depending on the brand and platform that work very well. I am NOT saying performance tunes don't work. I have a 93 race tune on my Mustang and it definitely makes a noticeable difference. With that being said, however, there are plenty of claimed "performance chips" that quite literally do nothing. This is not just some random opinion I hold, as there have been actual tests done on some of these chips that involved examining the PCB and determining that it did nothing that could be dicerned outside of powering an LED to show that they were "on." Even Mighty Car Mods had a video about this exact topic years ago. I would recommend watching it. If a performance chip is making claims that are highly improbable or impossible, like improving horsepower, torque, fuel economy and more on ANY make and model, it's likely a scam.

You forget that cars these days most of the damn hp is controlled by that ecu so adding the chip is beneficial .

I use to run the RaceChip GTS tune and they seem to be a very reputable company out of Germany.. I ditched the piggyback tune since and got a flash tune on my car’s actual ECU from Blood type racing, another reputable company.. Now I’m wondering if i can run the racechip on top of the ecu tune 🤔🤔🤭🤪

Rocket chip on my 2013 Camaro gave me a boost of horsepower and I saw a dramatic change.I also have roar pedal for my acceleration.So there are products that work.

I have one in my 2015 2ss 1LE and felt the difference. I took it off and drove 60 miles and felt it go back. Then placed it back in and drove for a while. Felt the power go back up

For Nissan(Altima, Versa, Sentra, etc), some of these are nice because consult III is a freaking nightmare(and expensive to use when accounting for devices needed). Just make sure it isn’t just some pcb with an LED attached to it 😂

Some do some don't jet performance stage 1 chip for ecu it worked and its a 2.2 so ya some do some dont and some you havw to drive a 100 miles and u do have to tun it after words

You should probably lable which chips on which cars do not work instead of just saying things. Fuel maps, timing, and shift points can be adjusted by the use of chips.... and yes, your obd2 port does directly connect to your engine via the computer, even obd1... which the computer controls timing, air, fuel, ignition etc.... and yes... its a 12 volt system, hints the 12 volt battery, so downplaying the port being a 12v plug doesnt say anything. The port allows access to all of your transmission and engine details... im assuming you made this video after someone tuned your personal car on a dyno lol.
