RACECHIP Tuning Box's - Do They WORK? DYNO TEST RESULTS!

preview_player
Показать описание

Plug in tuning boxes from brands such as HDI and Racechip are seen as a quick and easy way to increase performance for your vehicle. I test a Racechip piggyback diesel tuning box fitted to my Mercedes W205 C220D on a DYNO to see if it gives the BHP and TORQUE gains claimed.

A total 12 runs were performed for complete accuracy and all results were constant. Your results may vary.

Very informative video. There's a distinct lack of science of results on these boxes so, it's great to see a before and after dyno run, much like you would after an actual remap.

For the people who like to know:
It's interrupts the voltage signal coming from the common rail pressure sensor and forwards a higher or lower value depending on the chosen setting.
The ECU bumps up the demand of the pump a.k.a. pressure because it's sees a lower value from the sensor.
Now because the pressure is slightly higher and the duration of the injection is still original ECU, the end result is still a higher volume being injected in said duration of injection time resulting in a higher bang. And since cars are always tuned from factory for balanced power and pollution setting. You can get away with adding that little bit of fuel without getting in to trouble.

Initially when I got my RC, i didn't feel i noticed too much increase, it took my a while to notice.
I contacted RC customer support via email and explained that I felt it was not giving me the power i expected.
They sent me an update to install and i have to say i really do notice when it is turned on.
On highest setting it always feels like the turbo is raring to kick in.
I usually drive with it set to 4.
It definitely picks up quicker than without it.
I've had mine over 2 years now and hate driving with it off.
Expensive, yes. But so glad i bought one.

Fitted one to a turbo diesel i30 Hyundai. Definitely made a reasonable difference. The increased mpg on the trip computer was way out but measuring the mpg myself it gained 1 or 2 mpg which isn't much but considering the extra power it was a win win. Ran it for 50k miles and it never caused any issues.

I had the basic racechip on my A200d with the 2.2d engine. It made a real nice difference. The jump in torque made a big difference to the way it drove in normal traffic. I did over 100, 000 miles in that car and it did not effect mpg in any way. Averaged 68mpg over 100, 000 miles.

my Sportage CRDi 184 bhp becomes a crazy toy with the raceship on!!! Amazing difference, More response and more power, better gas mileage. I LOV IT ! Same on my Montero Sport before . Big difference . And with only basic raceship.

I've installed Race Chip on many of my own vehicles and all have worked very well. My MK8 GTI picked up 4 mph at our local 1/8th mile drag strip, only mod was the Race Chip. My Wife's Cayman S picked up almost 50 whp and 60 ft/lbs on the dyno with only the Race Chip as well.

Thank you so much for this video bud, I have a Gle 450 coupe and I was thinking of installing Racechip for me from 275kw and 520 torque stock they say it will jump to 331kw and 620 torque but after this video I highly doubt I’ll ever get close to those gains maybe 10-15kw and 20-40 torque more but it’s certainly not worth the money they wanna charge me. Which is 9500 South African rands.

The area under the curve is significantly better. Peak gains are cool for forum bragging rights, but actually driving your car takes place in the low and mid range most of the time. Seems like it’s worth it.

One thing to consider... as a race chip owner on a Panamera Turbo, is the race chip has a bit of a learning mode. It obtains its maximum improvements after a period of time, up to 200 miles clocked after installation.

I wonder if additional torque and HP achieve by combining Racechip & Revo infinity in a parallel function? I had conducted numerous public tests installation and test in the past. I persuaded my buddy to partake in competition to prove that the gadget can actually perform and function and also are meeting International Stds & expectation. Without testing, it is hard for most people to believe it's actually works wonder for the installed engine. I am glad he took my advice in partaking competition. It claims the Golden & Best Product Awards of MTE and The Best Innovation Awards Issues by Association of British inventors and innovators. I hope the awareness of this gadget can be widely spread in the movement combating climate change. It's an opportunity to cooperate and an individual has the opportunity to partake in combating climate change. Thks

I have contacted the Company twice now for their Dyno. Nos. for an MBZ 5.5M 273 V8 Litre ( standard 382 HP 391 lbs. torque ) of course I have received no reply because their advertising claims are simply for suckers . An excellent video showing the truth . Thank you .

My Racechip made a heap more power yet it took a bit of ECU learning. I slowly turned the setting up each day as advised. On the final day I was on setting 6 and my Kia Cerato GT was flying, advertised 40+kw gain. I pull away rapidly from MK6 GTI DSG and have hit high 5 seconds to 62MPH. Definitely recommend but u must slowly turn them up so your ECU can adjust timing tables etc.

I installed on my Mercedes CLS550 about a year ago. More power, better response and very reliable. I do not know how much more power, but the Mustang and Hemi people are trying to catch me.

Ive had a Racechip on my 2014 Audi A6 TDI. Purchased in 2018, (now 2023). While I do notice a difference it's not the same as a tune. No problems with the RC and I purchased another for a friends vehicle. Again, he enjoyed the performance gains. System spoofs the sensors and offers more trq than HP. Easy to install and remove. Overall OK but not what is claimed on HP at all. Also, at the higher RPM's I also didn't notice any improvement.

I used to have Tdi tuning bix on my fird transit Custom van, when it was brand new, 3 years later on a way home engine made horrible noises so I removed the box and opted for proper remap, and what a difference it made, day and night, as you stated it does a tittle bit but no where near to what they claim at least on diesel vehicles, so from my experience don’t waist your money on these boxes but go for remap.
