If the Duffer Brothers don’t bring Eddie back for season five, there should at least be some kind of memorial scene for him- where Dustin, Nancy, Steve, and Robin set up a small funeral to honor Eddie. I would like to see at least that (if they don’t bring Eddie back) because that “two days later” scene in the finale made *ZERO SENSE* because we didn’t even see Steve, Nancy or Robin react to Dustin telling them that Eddie is dead.

I’m happy they chose Max, they gave her a great storyline and gave Sadie more well deserved screen time. BUT Eddie needs to come back somehow, his story was not finished yet.

Eddie is the one character they should NEVER have killed off.

He’s one of the few characters who ISN’T a complete stereotype and is actually a very multi-dimensional and deep character. He actually has a personality and felt much more realistic than all of the other characters. One of the only characters I felt like had good character development, apart from Steve.

He felt like the most realistic and likeable character in the entire show, by far, for these reasons. He had such main character energy. I’m so disappointed in his death - and on top of that, his death was so meaningless and there didn’t seem to be any good reason for him to run out to die that way when it wouldn’t have saved anyone else from dying anyway if El hadn’t stopped Vecna in the nick of time.

And everyone apart from Dustin acting like nothing even happened after he died and only Dustin mourning him just felt so off.

Somehow someway Eddie has to come back. He's an amazing character and Joseph did such an amazing job. So well liked and well loved.

My theory is he is going to come back as a vampire, or something similar… hear me out! In the first episode, in the d+d scene where they did a hint to Eddie’s death and the Metallica scene, a character is mentioned in the campaign: Kas. This character fought with a sword and shield (like Eddie), and died. He then came back to ‘life’ as a vampire bc he was killed by a demobat……. Deja vü anyone? Also, (I think it was on Eddie’s jacket) the brothers indicated towards the Iron Maiden album Somewhere in Time, which is filled with song titles that can be used to explain a situation where Eddie is alive in the upside down (eg. The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner, A Stranger in a Strange Land, Wasted Years, Deja vu etc.)
A coincidence? I think NOT! Often, when there is detail in the show about the opening d+d game, it usually reflects the shows ending. Think back to season one…..
