Excellent review and it’s good to hear you like it for sketching. A lot of other reviews focus on note taking and it does seem people get organized on the Remakable with their notes in a way they really like.

I really wanted to buy it. Not as an architect. But was expensive. Then there was the pre-order for the Remarkable 2 so I ordered it a while back. I am looking forward for when it comes in the mail.

PS in a traditional sketchbook you can do a bit of management. If you reserve the first 4 pages or so to make short titles for each page. Youll build an index and have some sort of a easy reference.

It seems to be simple and straightforward.
It is a pity not to save in the image format, but it is worth having it! :)

Great review! Makes me miss my Architecture days! The remarkable is surprisingly good for drawing, I agree it's not better or worse than the iPad, just a different experience for a different purpose! I'll be releasing my remarkable review tomorrow, with my thoughts on using it as a teacher. 🦍🙂

I suggest preordained the supernote A5X they have stylus that is an actual pen with wacom nib. I don't have it yet but I am going to get it for tiny home design reasons and notebooks and such but also hopefully has a good paper feet.

Hi,
Thanks for your very helpful review !
I am also working in architecture, and am struggling a little with my current working-from-home situation where I combine an office iMac with sketching in my paper sketchbook.
Whenever attending online meetings, I sketch with various size pen/pencils, photograph, increase contrast and email to myself to then post into the chat and exchange ideas.
Clearly, this could be done more efficiently and especially, in a way that does these sketches a little more justice :-s
I therefore started looking into devices that could help me out with this specific problem, and came across the Remarkable.
What appeals to me is that the ReMarkable comes with templates (blank, isometric, dotted grids, ..) which seemingly make it useful to do both conceptual and quite technical sketches at a correct scale.
Of course, I am just looking to resolve a specific issue and realise the ReMarkable is a really pricey solution for what one could call a first world problem..

As you seem to recommend the iPad instead (I really do get why!), do you know whether such templates are also featured on an iPad?
Or do you have any other recommendations, maybe?
Thanks again !

Thank you for this video. I was wondering. Do you think this device could be helpful for online teaching? So creating a video on Mac with ReMarkable synced in, and as you write, the writing appears on the video screen of the Mac. I hope that makes sense, thank you.

How did you scan all your architectural ncarb books into your sketch pad? For the price, I wish it was already in a pdf format.

How can I get drawings to be at 100% scale?

What you pay $399 and you get tips a cardboard box which looks like a box of matches. Well lets see how long that stays looking like that. What a ripoff!
