Lies about Hurricane Helene

Many lies have been spread by Americans regarding the response to Hurricane Helene. Here are the facts:

1. National Guard and Active Duty soldiers and Airmen from multiple states are assisting in search and rescue, aid delivery and cleanup. The primary goal is to get the roads open.
2. FEMA does not have arrest powers. They are not confiscating food.
3. Volunteers who are not coordinating with the National Guard are hurting more than they are helping.
4. The hurricane was not engineered by the US Government or Blackrock to grab land for a lithium mine.

If you are in need of immediate emergency assistance, please contact 911 directly for life-threatening situations and urgent emergencies.

My son-in-law is an electrician with a fire department in Utah. He's trained in Disaster Recovery. Within 24 hours of this crisis, FEMA had him working in North Carolina to help restore both electrical and cell phone towers.
He's projected to be there for a
month. His family here in Utah will be ok without him, knowing this is how they are helping the people of NC.

I know Ryan loves chasing down fake news, but he seems more and more exhausted every time he has to do another one of these.

The fire department I work for had a station get completely flooded during Helene. FEMA deployed a temporary fire station called a FORT to my department to stand in until we can rebuild. They’re a major boon to us continuing to provide Fire & EMS to our citizens with fast response times

It's a shame that sensible and smart people like Ryan get thousands of views while grifters get millions

I'm in GA, I got my electricity turned on LAST NIGHT. It's the most intense hurricane we've had in literal generations. We had cell service for 15 minutes a day, it really made me wish we had a local government radio system to get information like when and where aid is going to be distributed. We had to figure out that there was no gasoline in the city and that the hospital had no electricity, by listening to law enforcement radio on a Baofeng. Like someone said on the substack, I wish Civil Defense could make a comeback.

As a USAR specialist working in the area right now, I can assure you we are only here to help. We only care about helping the survivors and recovering any victims So their loved ones can have some closure. All of this is done with the upmost dignity and respect. This is our mission and our passion nothing more. Every N.C. Survivor in my A.O have been supportive, helpful and, appreciative I adore the people of N.C. Thanks for addressing misinformation Ryan it’s a big help.

As someone living between Asheville and Hendersonville. I really appreciate you and everyones help putting us back together. Nothing here was built to handle a hurricane.

My brother lives outside of Asheville. I went to school in Boone.
I was talking with my brother and he says you just can't fathom the destruction. You can't.
He started listing things and places...
"You remember X"
"Yeah"
"That's gone... You remember Y?"
"Oh Yeah! "
"That's gone... You remember Z?"
"Y...yeah..."
"Gone..."
He just kept going.
The "river" in his town, you could walk across normally, was well above 20 feet.
You just can't fathom, I can't fathom. But I do know it's just heartbreaking.

I was in NC Army National Guard for over 22 yrs, Infantry the whole time. Got sent to New Orleans for Katrina and remember standing on the roof of a house the was level with the ground after the water went down considering all the sand, silt, and mud came thru. I only imagine the influence social media would have had back then as well as the other times I went on state active duty missions...

Thanks Ryan for posting this. As a member of the north Carolina national guard and a part of one of the first groups from my unit to respond to the devastation caused by hurricane Helene it has hurt me to see people post online that we are doing nothing or that we are not helping at all.

World Central Kitchen helps so many so much. They were in Ukraine during the bad days.
Their motto is "Wherever there’s a fight so that hungry people may eat … we’ll be there.”

Thank you Chef Andrès

Keep doing the work Ryan.

Your experience, expertise and honesty is what is needed in this country.

Now we just need about a million more of you.

It breaks my heart to see Americans hurting each other.

Keep making us aware and reaching those of us that might be doing this accidentally.

Thank You Ryan. I'm in Canton NC and our Mayor has done an outstanding job. Way too many people want to come here so they can look like heroes on social media. If you want to help please send supplies as normal deliveries can't get in. But please if you are not already here stay home.

I usually don’t comment on your videos the line is just very long and know one would read it anyway. I know a lot of my views are different than yours but you are a trustworthy person and I appreciate what you do. I for one would like to thank you for all the honesty you bring to light. These people need help and giving is what our country needs. This is an honest man doing great work for all of us so please listen to what he is saying. If you can please give to someone in need.

I'm in downtown Black Mountain. The amount of helicopter traffic, especially in the days immediately after the flooding was unreal. Flying in supplies and flying people out in addition to the troops on the ground and communities coming together to help out. I've never seen anything like it. I am humbled and and incredibly grateful for the help that came in from all over the country. We couldn't/can't get through it without y'all.
As for disinformation, I have gotten to where I fact check everything that I read. There are so many people out there who have been spreading false information. It's sickening. People are in real trouble. My family and friends. That's the last thing that we need.
Thanks for what you're doing.
