Wow it's really true. I'm on Keppra and it makes me feel ill. Yet I drink other medicine. For depression and anxiety. I still get seizures at times. How can I get my Dr to change it? I have been complaining about for some years now.😢

Thank you for this video Doctor it is very helpful, Keppra made me very sleepy and anxious, now I’m taking trileptal and I always feel anxious, irritated and lack of concentration have you heard of these side effects happening or am I just going crazy!

My Dr gave me keppra knowing I had depression, it was awful! I ended up in hospital. I am now on oxcarbazapine which is fine but I’m very tired all the time . 🙏🏼

My mother was taking Phenobarbital for her epilepsy 40 years ago when pregnant with my brother. It had permanent effects on his development.

I have been on 8 different medications and had epilepsy for 49 years. I found carbamazepine worked for me several years ago, but regret I relocated and it is not available here. I am now weaning off Pregabalin and waiting for neurologist to suggest another plan.

Keppra at 3000mg a day radically increased my autistic son's self injurious behavior. Never again. Likewise, Depakote caused hyperammonia, which exacerbated self abuse. Then there was lamictal, which increased myoclonus and Topamax which caused kidney stones. Not to forget Vimpat caused unsteady gait, increased self biting and screaming. And all benzos ever tried for agitation have the opposite effect on his brain, as if his brain resists anything that blunts choline. Thus, ativan and versed can only be given for status seizures. Also interesting, only Dilantin and Keppra IV could stop status epileptic, but dilantin increased his myoclonus and tonic clonic seizures. As for benzos, Galantamine reverses his blunted choline, increaes focus and helps behavior. Everyone is unique. It saddens me we live in a world without enough precision medicine.

Dr. Danoun, I have epilepsy and I take toperimate among other medications I’ve also taken topomax in the past and I still have chronic headaches everyday. Now I’m on something for migraines but it’s as needed so I only take it when I feel like I got wacked in my right eye most of the time it’s just a slight pain.
