My epilepsy medication is perampenal, clobazam, zonisamide and lacosomide - taken a little while to work out what works but these have made me go from 4/5 a day to one every 4-6 weeks!

Enjoyed your vid on Kepra Please do a similar vid on Lamotrigine. A Neurosurgeon put me on Kepra and sent me to a Neurologist who does nothing but Epilepsy and other seizure disorders. He put me on Lamotrigine in addition to the Kepra. But I have Clinical Depression and Anxiety Disorder and I would fly into fits of anger. Very unlike me. He immediately took me off Kepra. He said he isn’t crazy about it to begin with. Now I’m on Lamotrigine 200mg twice daily and things are well under control. My Epilepsy is Temporal Lobe.

I was put on lepta, by a doctor here in the uk, he just looked in a book and said that will do, he didn’t even refer me to a neurologist first, even when I asked to see one, he said there was no need, kepra made me suicidal for 7 years, I then moved to a different area in the uk, and the neurologist I saw couldn’t believe I was was never taken off it, and that I was even still living, I now take epilin volporate, which works, to some extent, but suffer, extreme drepression, stress and also anxiety too, am now waiting to see another neurologist again, thank for your videos, I would appreciate your feed back, on what may help more 👍

Salam, Dr. Omar your work is impeccable. I have learned so much. You are echoing what I say as well regarding neuropsychology and how lamictal and depakote have mood stabilization. The emphasis of keppra when not mental health issues. I have found in patients utilizing ETOH to more avoid depakote in favor of lamictal? Perhaps if prominent irritability then utilize depakote? I have found lamictal very helpful especially for younger patients. The Stevens Johnson's seems a risk but I have not seen that yet from Lamictal in my patients. Eager to learn from you sir.

The medication 💊 that stabilizes me is Dilantin and Phenobarbital. I don’t understand how they work, but as long as I use them I have no seizures-I still get the “Aura” though which is just as bad. They won’t stop 🛑! (11/17/24)

Hello Dr. Danoun, In regards to bone desity, is Lamotrigine better than Carbamazepine? Does Lamotriigne contribute to bone density issue in women over 50. Thank you. Much appreciated.

I have corresponded with you about my son. Now I am in need of your thoughts about me. I have never had a seizure until two days ago. I was actually in my daughters hospital room when it happened. It was tonic clonic, and I required cpr. A brain mri and 20 min eeg was done. INTERPRETATION:
This is an abnormal EEG due to the presence of rare
right temporal-parietal sharp waves.
CLINICAL CORRELATION:
Focal epileptiform abnormalities are indicative of an
area of focal cortical irritability that may increase risk
for focal onset seizures.

I have PTSD, Depression, Anxiety yet the er still wanted me to take Keppra. I can not take Lamotrigine due to SJS. What would be your next choice medication.

I'm from Brazil, my crisis starts with aura, aphasia, chewing and sometimes becomes tonic clonic, I can't hear repeated sounds because it triggers the crisis. I take leveriracetam 750, but it doesn't help.
