Once I was making a timelapse in Budapest, at the Chain Bridge, at night. And as I was cold and kept taking photos for more than an hour this song came up on my headphones. It has been one of the times that I've felt alive the most in my life. I just couldn't help but smile, and I won't forget that.

I havent seen the movie that popularized this song. But what this song makes me think of is the time not too long ago when an online friend/acquaintance messaged me, telling me they were going to commit suicide by the start of the next day.

Its an awful moment to know that someone you know, even if just through the internet, is only about 10 hours away from ending their own life. Its the kind of thing that really makes you rethink things afterwards. I tried to talk them out of it but there was truly nothing I could say to dissuade them.

At that point I actually gave up and succumbed to the inevitable. I decided that I would just talk to them, as they were otherwise not talking to anyone else and maybe I could at least help the pain by staying with them just to converse. It was really, really a painful 4 hours but it would have been more painful otherwise. We ended up listening to music together over spotify on discord, but since i dont have premium I just kinda listened along manually and we talked.

Anyway, eventually around 4 hours later they informed me that they were going to go and they said their goodbye and I basically frantically diverted the conversation over and over in a natural way for the next hour. It basically worked, we talked until the early early morning and they told me that they didnt want to do what they were now planning for months. I tried to keep just a natural conversation but I was almost breaking down by then out of tension, relief, and just everything.

I dont say this to brag about how I saved someone. I say this now because sometimes just a bit of human interaction can truly show someone you do care and that life is worth living. In those confusing hours, the phrase "Do whatever just to stay alive" gained a new meaning for me, and I think this song will now always remind me of how I truly acted on my gut reaction just to keep another human being alive, even during a week when I felt horribly depressed myself. "Just look into the sun as a new days rise" was the dawn in which I awoke to them still being alive and still being here in this world to see that maybe not everything has to always be so bad.

Best damn movie I've seen in a long time, 5 stars all the way around including the soundtrack. I saw it in the theater with the girl I was dating at the time, didn't want to leave the theater because of the awesome experience this movie was. Perfection.

A great ending song for what I feel is a terribly underrated movie. One of Ben stillers finest. His interaction with Sean penns character in Afghanistan..struck something in me. Hard to explain. Great song
