The Broken Image Of Academia

If you believe that external outcomes are somehow reflective of your success, then you’ll inevitably fall prey to a broken image. You’ll never really believe that simple outcomes are the result of simple actions, and you’ll likely fall prey for strategies and actions that inevitably will harm you in the long run.

I think if you want to not fall, pray for that broken image, you have to actively push back against the world and being OK with living a simple life.

I can relate to what you say. I pursued that broken image of academia for a lot ot time and got to the point of feeling so frustrated. Thank God I am aware of it now.
