History of Turkish Railways Animation (1856-2021)

An animation of the history of railways in Turkey. This video focuses on on Anatolia and East Thrace, so other Ottoman railways, such as the Hedjaz and the Palestine railways are not included.

This is the first version of the animation, I am planning to improve it on a second version, pending how much time I have in the coming months.

NOTE: This animation does not show every railway line in neighboring countries and due to lack of data in English, I had to approximate the dates of some in neighboring countries. Also ownership changes are based on legal agreements and not who physically controls the railway. Also some changes in the map were simplified.

Great animation. Sad that most of the railway was built in the single-party period of the republic. Wish other governments prioritized railway construction too.
