I became very familiar with these when I was 17-18. My nickname back then was Crossthread. Learned a lot from my mistakes.

Seeing this done in a block makes me feel way more comfortable about having to do it to mine.

This just gave me all the information I needed and just that boost of confidence to go drill into my engine heads to repair a stripped valve cover thread

Use the vacuum as you drill. I do that with wood working as well.

Thank goodness. I stripped a motor mount off in the side of my gsxr 750 block. I was freaking out but now I’m confident I can rethread it thanks

Hello, I broke the oil plug of my Vespa gts 250. Now the oil is not leaking thanks to the liquid seal. But instead of using the liquid seal every year, I want to do helecoil. But isn't the work in the video a little dirty? What should I do to prevent a piece of metal from getting into the tank? If that small piece of metal gets into the oil sump tank, won't it be a problem?Last Minute I'm not talking about the salvaged piece. Won't the metal pieces formed when drilling a hole with the drill at the beginning of the video escape?

Always cover gears with rag keeps metal flings out...

Use a magnet to take off the metal debris instead of compressed air and also cover the gears before drilling.

Would this support 200+ pounds of force or pressure? Have a escooter where the rear suspension under the deck separated from the rear tire connector. I think this should work but would it support the weight?

Done that on a engine block to re thread the head bolt, still going strong

I will most likely have to do this on a stripped bolt hole for a cam cover bolt, though i’m worried about metal shavings getting into the oil

I have question
Should we use a bigger bolt than the before one or the same like I had 10 mm if make new threads should we use the 11mm bolt ?

Is that a time sert? Question some idiot took an impact to my Harley drain plug m12 I got it out and had to use an m12.1 x 1.50 x 15mm oversized drain plug now I’m over by .10 can I still use the m12 drill and cert or do I have to go up to an m13. The m12 was oem. The treads ripped out while taking the old one out. The oversized piggyback drain plug is only .10 bigger I’m not sure what size tonorder

I’m impressed you used an adjustable for that tap when a wrench that I know you have would have worked even better lol. Or even a ratcheting wrench, you probably have that too! Nice work though
