Almost 4 years ago is when the first trailer for this game came out, and now it is releasing in 12 days. No delays this time. My most anticipated game in a very long time.

As a Vietnamese, and I started knowing about Journey to the West from a very young age, even before I entered elementary school. Every summer, I would watch the 1986 film by director Yang Jie over and over again. I am certain that every boy who grew up with Journey to the West like I did, across East Asia, Southeast Asia, or in countries with cultures similar to China’s, has at least once in their life dreamed of becoming the Great Sage Equal to Heaven—Sun Wukong, to wreak havoc in Heaven. After nearly 30 years of waiting, the moment to touch this dream is finally approaching. Even though I’m now an adult, the excitement I feel is no less than when I was a boy. No matter how the game is rated in the future, for me, this will be one of the most incredible games I’ve ever experienced because it features Sun Wukong

Using an actual Buddhist mantra as the lyrics for the vocal section of this trailer’s music is SO cool. Genuinely, a stroke of genius

As a Chinese, I can't express the feeling when I look at the language selection, that the first one is simplified Chinese. Finally there is the game, that we don't have to wonder why Wukong put his weapon in the ear. And the landscapes are easy for us to reach. Now let's go! Let's enjoy the first Chinese 3a video game.😊

The game was inspired by a novel called "Journey to the West" from the distant mid-16th century, which has been loved by countless people for hundreds of years, and is the absolute pinnacle of Chinese literature.
In 1986, this immortal masterpiece was adapted into a TV series, and almost everyone in China knows about it.
Now, he's finally going to be a game.

As a Chinese, I'm really happy to see that the game of my motherland can be recognised all over the world. I have been an assassin in France, a warrior in Japan, and a killer in the United States. Now, I can finally be the traditional hero of our motherland once in my own motherland! I love this game. I really cried. When I saw that the default language of this game was Chinese, I really cried! Long live the Chinese! Long live Chinese culture!

Journey to the West is one of the big part in my childhood as a Vietnamese. I remember back when I was 5 years old, I sat with my dad and sister every night just to watch Wukong on a box TV, it was memorable. Almost every Vietnamese who are above 18 knows this book so well and most of us have a really positive impression about this.

From 2:19 to 2:22 this is a hint about Maitreya Buddha, this Buddha is still alive. In the novel, he transformed into a watermelon farmer and helped Wukong tame the demon. That's why the monkey bowed his head and clasped his hands to recite the Buddha's name in front of the Buddha statue and the scene changed to the image of the boy holding a watermelon.
