Look into planting some bulbs in the fall. It's easy and they return yearly. Some of the flowers in your inspiration pic are from bulbs.

If those are asiatic llillies, here's a tip - keep the bulb in shade but the rest of the plant in a lot of sun. Also mulch it with decaying leafs. Mine grew to be 2 meters tall

What is the bush (shrub) in the back ? I know you got rid of few for space, but I really like
That shrub!

Nice work, time to remove those photinias 😌 at least they aren't that big to get out. 😊

Hi! what kind of soil did you use for your 'successful peonies'? I am contemplating trying one. Thank you, Chrissy

I planted a purple pincushion flower last year. But didn’t come back. A garden is always a working process so don’t spend too much time on the things lost.

Be sure you know what Zone your in, the micro climate, planting area (Shade, Sun needs) that is in the area you want to plant. Then just trial and error.

Wait but why are you trying to remove the old mulch for 😮 don't you want it to decompose and add nutrients to your garden more? Just cultivating it would have been fine it seems unless u wanted another layer 😮
