VERY similar in tonal balance, but the Silo has noticeably lower output and the transients are compressed away. I'll always take a higher-output, higher-dynamics pickup for dirty sounds.

Nice comparison! The difference would have been slightly bigger if the HD would have had the normal spec slugs and screws, now you had the double bolts which makes it even more closer to Silo. But still, very nicely executed comparison! I'm a HD guy, love the pickup.

Similar, Silo sounds a Holy Diver with the “stank” knocked off. I like the added output and attitude the HD has.

I’m team Holydiver Lol. I’m recording my album almost entirely with a Vola Vasti 7 strings and a BK Holydiver in the bridge and I love it!

How do they compare in terms of output? I have a Silo set but I kinda miss it had a bit more output so I was considering the Holydiver.

This comparison sounded a little closer than my memory from my recent experience trying out the Silo before the HD in the same guitar back to back, but the results are still the same. The Silos seem to be a bit too bloated in the low end for my taste. The HDs could very well remain my goldilocks, but I am excited to try the Polymath bridge that I just need to get around to installing whenever I get the chance. And I'll probably give the True Grits another try because they were a solid contender.

That's all bridge talk. The HD neck is the endgame for me.

Yup great compare again when so difficult to hear differences with gain. Silo tighter to my ears, particularly low frequency metal riffing, so more separation and clarity between strings- you can hear the front of the note. Holy diver more compressed, so nice for solo mid range and must feel easier to play Gabriel? Must feel like you can’t get away with stuff with the silo?

No contest for my taste? not sure that's the right word. My ears are more accustomed to hearing the Holy Diver mid tones. Obviously "80's" as it's designed to be, I love it.
